''Bouillon de culture'' was a weekly, cultural, prime-time, talk show on French television created and hosted by Bernard Pivot. The show ran from January 12, 1991 to June 29, 2001 (407 episodes "'Bouillon de culture': la dernière de Pivot", ''Le Nouvel Observateur'', June 30, 200/ref>); it was broadcast on the channel France 2 (which was called "Antenne 2" until 1992). The show originally aired on Sunday evenings, but it was quickly moved to Friday nights, taking the same time-slot as Pivot's previous literary talk show '' Apostrophes'' (1975–1990) which it had replaced. The show covered a wide range of cultural topics, especially literature. The show had an average of 850,000 weekly viewers (about 11.6% of total viewers). The series finale had 1,163,000 viewers (19.3%). French Language
French ( or ) is a Romance language of the Indo-European family. It descended from the Vulgar Latin of the Roman Empire, as did all Romance languages. The French Wikipedia (french: Wikipédia en français) is the French-language edition of Wikipedia, the free online encyclopedia. This edition was started on 23 March 2001, two months after the official creation of Wikipedia. It has articles as of , making it the -largest Wikipedia overall, after the English-, Cebuano-, Swedish- and German-language editions, the largest Wikipedia edition in a Romance language. It has the third-most edits, and ranks 6th in terms of depth among Wikipedias. It was also the third edition, after the English Wikipedia and German Wikipedia, to exceed 1 million articles: this occurred on 23 September 2010. In April 2016, the project had 4657 active editors who made at least five edits in that month. 7 D'Or
The ''7 d'Or'' or ''Sept d'Or'' ( French for "Seven of Gold" or "Golden Seven") was a French television production award (similar in nature to the Emmy Awards), presented by '' Télé 7 Jours'' (a weekly French magazine with listings of TV shows). The awards were presented in the fall of each year from 1985 to 2003 (no awards were presented in 1992, 1998 and 2002) during a televised "Night of the 7 d'Or" awards ceremony (1988 and 2003 were not televised). The first ceremonies took place in Le Lido in Paris. Since 2003, several attempts have been made to bring back the "7 d'Or" awards. In 2005, some sources announced a possible return of the awards, produced by Endemol; in 2008, a second return was mentioned on Direct 8, but this project didn't come to fruition; in late November 2011, the editor in chief of ''Télé 7 Jours'' announced that negotiations were taking place with France Télévisions to try to bring back the ceremonies in 2012. Proust Questionnaire
The Proust Questionnaire is a set of questions answered by the French writer Marcel Proust, and often used by modern interviewers. Proust answered the questionnaire in a confession album—a form of parlor game popular among Victorians. The album belonged to his friend Antoinette, daughter of future French President Félix Faure, titled "An Album to Record Thoughts, Feelings, etc." The album was found in 1924 by Faure's son, and published in the French literary journal ''Les Cahiers du Mois''. It was auctioned on May 27, 2003 for the sum of €102,000 ($113,609.46USD). Other historical figures who have answered confession albums are Oscar Wilde, Karl Marx, Arthur Conan Doyle, Stéphane Mallarmé, Paul Cézanne, Martin Boucher and Enzo Kehl. Inside The Actors Studio
''Inside the Actors Studio'' is an American talk show that airs on Ovation. The series premiered in 1994 on Bravo where it aired for 22 seasons and was hosted by James Lipton from its premiere until 2018. It is taped at the Michael Schimmel Center for the Arts at Pace University's New York City campus. On April 2, 2019, it was announced that the show would move to Ovation with the 23rd season premiering on October 13, 2019. Along with producing a new season, Ovation acquired the rights to all previous seasons. With the new format, the show now uses a rotating panel of hosts. Louis James Lipton (September 19, 1926 – March 2, 2020) was an American writer, lyricist, actor, and Dean (education), dean emeritus of the Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York City. He was the executive producer, writer, and host of the Bravo (American TV channel), Bravo cable television series ''Inside the Actors Studio'', which debuted in 1994. He retired from the show in 2018. Bernard Pivot
Bernard Pivot (; born 5 May 1935) is a French journalist, interviewer and host of cultural television programmes. He was chairman of the Académie Goncourt from 2014 to 2020. Biography Pivot was born in Lyon, the son of two grocers. During World War II, his father, Charles Pivot, was taken prisoner and his mother moved the family home to the village of Quincié-en-Beaujolais, where Bernard Pivot started school. In 1945, his father was released and the reunited family returned to Lyon. At age 10, Pivot went to a Catholic boarding school where he discovered a passion for sport, while he was more average at traditional school subjects, except French language and history. After starting law studies in Lyon, Pivot entered the Centre de formation des journalistes (CFJ) in Paris, where he met his future wife, Monique. He graduated second in his class.
