Anna Maria Adorni Botti
Anna Maria Adorni Botti (19 June 1805 – 7 February 1893), born Anna Maria Adorni before her marriage, was an Italian Roman Catholic widow who later became a professed religious in the Handmaids of the Immaculata - an order that she herself established in 1857. Botti's vocation was to the religious life and as a child believed she was destined for the missions and later as a nun of the Order of Friars Minor. After being widowed she did pastoral work in Parma where she established and ran her order until her death. Botti was beatified on 3 October 2010 in the Parma Cathedral and the then-Archbishop Angelo Amato presided over the beatification on the behalf of Pope Benedict XVI who had approved the cause months before. Christopher Stephen Botti ( ; born October 12, 1962) is an award-winning American trumpeter and composer. In 2013, Botti won the Grammy Award in the Best Pop Instrumental Album category, for the album ''Impressions''. He was also nominated in 2008 for his album ''Italia'' and received three nominations in 2010 for the live album '' Chris Botti in Boston''. Four of his albums have reached the No. 1 position on the '' Billboard'' jazz albums chart. Guglielmo Botti
Guglielmo Botti (December 9, 1829 – after 1906) was an Italian dresser and restorer. He was born in Pisa. He trained under Tommaso Gazzarrini in Pisa, and Giuseppe Bezzuoli in Florence. He trained as an artist of stained glass, closely studying Italian stained glass from the 14th and early 15th century to discover their techniques. He did so well that he was, erroneously, credited for rediscovering "the ancient manner" of painting on glass. He was sponsored by Leopold II, Grand Duke of Tuscany, developing new stained-glass techniques. He avoided a composition of many separate pieces of colored glass by keeping the lead lines to a minimum and painting directly on the larger panes of glass with many colors of enamel pigments. Shortly afterwards he was asked (together with Tito Gordini) by patrons in Pisa to create stained-glass windows for the Pisa Baptistry. Ida Botti Scifoni
Ida Botti Scifoni (Rome, 1812 - Florence, 1844) was an Italians, Italian Painting, painter, Sculpture, sculptor and designer. She was married to Felice Scifoni, and was a teacher and friend of Mathilde Bonaparte, Napoleon’s niece. Life and marriage Ida Botti was born in Rome on 7 November 1812. She was raised in a Middle class, middle-class family and excelled at an early age not only in painting portraits, which was socially accepted for a female painter, but also in painting more “masculine” historical and religious subjects. Ida married Felice Scifoni, a notary, writer, and a member of the Carbonari, a secret revolutionary society committed to the unification of Italy. His political activities led to his arrest and subsequent exile after the Romagna Insurrection in 1831. She died in Florence on 13 June 1844.
