''Bother! The Brain of Pooh'' is a one-man show created and performed by the English actor Peter Dennis with selections from the works about Winnie-the-Pooh by A. A. Milne. It premiered on October 14, 1976 at the ADC Theatre, Cambridge University, and premiered in America at the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in December 1986. The show received eight Critics' Choice Awards, the LA Weekly Theater Award, and the Drama-Logue Award. ''Bother!'' has been performed at over eighty major venues throughout the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Peter John Dennis (25 October 1933 – 18 April 2009) was a Screen Actors Guild Award and Drama-Logue Award winning English film, television, theatre and voice actor. His extensive career spanned both sides of the Atlantic with projects ranging from '' The Avengers'' to ''Sideways''. He was perhaps best known for his more than three decades association performing the works of A. A. Milne on stage in his one-man show entitled ''Bother! The Brain of Pooh''. Winnie-the-Pooh, also called Pooh Bear and Pooh, is a fictional Anthropomorphism, anthropomorphic teddy bear created by English author A. A. Milne and English illustrator E. H. Shepard. The first collection of stories about the character was the book ''Winnie-the-Pooh (book), Winnie-the-Pooh'' (1926), and this was followed by ''The House at Pooh Corner'' (1928). ADC Theatre
The ADC Theatre is a theatre in Cambridge, England, and also a department of the University of Cambridge. It is located in Park Street, north off Jesus Lane. The theatre is owned by the Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club (CUADC), but is currently run as the smallest department of the university, with four full-time and two part-time staff. It is a producing theatre with the CUADC as its resident company. The auditorium seats 228 audience members. The auditorium seating was replaced in summer 2008, and the rows are fairly evenly stepped from row A up to row P (with entrances at row A – step-free from the street, via a passenger lift – and row J). The Drama-Logue Award was an American theater award established in 1977, given by the publishers of Drama-Logue newspaper, a weekly west-coast theater trade publication. Winners were selected by the publication's theater critics, and would receive a certificate at an annual awards ceremony hosted by ''Drama-Logue'' founder Bill Bordy. The awards did not require any voting or agreement among critics; each critic could select as many award winners as they wished. As a result, many awards were issued each year. Christopher Robin Milne (21 August 1920 – 20 April 1996) was an English author and bookseller and the only child of author A. A. Milne.
