Bota Sot
''Bota Sot'' (English: World Today) is a daily newspaper from Kosovo, originally published by members of the Kosovo diaspora in Switzerland. History ''Bota Sot'' is published by Media Print and is owned by Xhevdet Mazrekaj, a diaspora businessman. The newspaper was published for the first time in 1995, and initially solely published abroad. The paper editorially supports the Democratic League of Kosovo ( sq, Lidhja Demokratike e Kosovës) and Democratic Party of Albania ( sq, Partia Demokratike e Shqipërisë, PD or PDSH) and has supported two previous presidents of Kosovo and Albania, Ibrahim Rugova and Sali Berisha. A number of the newspaper's journalists have been assassinated. Xhemail Mustafa, a journalist and advisor to President Rugova, was assassinated in November, 2000. Mass is an intrinsic property of a body. It was traditionally believed to be related to the quantity of matter in a physical body, until the discovery of the atom and particle physics. Kosovo Liberation Army
The Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA; , UÇK) was an ethnic Albanian separatist militia that sought the separation of Kosovo, the vast majority of which is inhabited by Albanians, from the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (FRY) and Serbia during the 1990s. Albanian nationalism was a central tenet of the KLA and many in its ranks supported the creation of a Greater Albania, which would encompass all Albanians in the Balkans, stressing Albanian culture, ethnicity and nation. Throughout its existence the KLA was designated as a terrorist group by FRY. Military precursors to the KLA began in the late 1980s with armed resistance to Yugoslav police trying to take Albanian activists in custody.. Bardhyl Ajeti
Bardhyl Ajeti (May 29, 1977 in Prilepnica, SFR Yugoslavia – 28 June 2005 in Milan, Italy) was a reporter for the Albanian-language daily newspaper ''Bota Sot'', published in Pristina. He wrote daily editorials for Bota Sot and supported anticrime campaign of international authorities in arresting former members of the Kosova Liberation Army (KLA). Bota Sot also supported Ibrahim Rugova, a leader of ethnic Albanian party, the Democratic League of Kosovo. Several weeks before he was shot, Ajeti had written a complaint to the Temporary Media Commissioner, which is internationally supervised media regulator in Kosovo. In his complaint he stated that his life had been threatened. He was shot by unidentified assassins on 3 June 2005, while he was driving a car on the way to Pristina. Sali Berisha
Sali Ram Berisha (; born 15 October 1944) is an Albanian conservative politician and former cardiologist who served as the second President of Albania from 1992 to 1997 and Prime Minister from 2005 to 2013. He is also the current chairman of the Democratic Party of Albania which has been disputed. On 9 September 2021 Berisha was expelled by party chairman Lulzim Basha from the Democratic Party's Parliamentary Group due to legal issues with the US Department of State. A tabloid is a newspaper with a compact page size smaller than broadsheet. There is no standard size for this newspaper format. Etymology The word ''tabloid'' comes from the name given by the London-based pharmaceutical company Burroughs Wellcome & Co. to the compressed tablets they marketed as "Tabloid" pills in the late 1880s. Ibrahim Rugova
Ibrahim Rugova (; 2 December 1944 – 21 January 2006) was a prominent Kosovo Albanian political leader, scholar, and writer, who served as the President of the partially recognised Republic of Kosova, serving from 1992 to 2000 and as President of Kosovo from 2002 until his death in 2006. He oversaw a popular struggle for independence, advocating a peaceful resistance to Yugoslav rule and lobbying for U.S. and European support, especially during the Kosovo War. He founded the political party Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) in 1989.
