Akeem Maurice Bostick (born May 4, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the Wild Health Genomes of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball. He was chosen by the Texas Rangers in the second round of the 2013 MLB draft, and made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut with the New York Mets in 2021. Career Amateur career Bostick attended West Florence High School in Florence, South Carolina. Bostick played for the school's baseball team, and was their ace (baseball), ace pitcher. Brandon Jamal Bostick (born May 3, 1989) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at Newberry. Bostick was signed by the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He was also member of the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals and New York Jets. Early life and college career Bostick was born in Florence, South Carolina and graduated from West Florence High School in 2007. He then attended Newberry College, a Division II school. After redshirting his freshman year, Bostick played at Newberry as wide receiver from the 2008 to 2011 seasons. In 39 games, he started 24 and made 136 receptions for 1,935 yards and 19 touchdowns. Sion Record Bostick (7 December 1819 – 15 October 1902) was a soldier for the Texas Army during the Texas Revolution, and later fought for the Confederate States Army during the American Civil War. Bostick is most famous as one of the Texas Army scouts who captured Antonio López de Santa Anna during the Texas Revolution. Early life Bostick was born in Montgomery, Alabama on 7 December 1819. His father, Levi Bostick, was granted land by Stephen F. Austin in what was to become Matagorda County, Texas. Levi moved to Texas on 24 July 1824, and his family followed in 1828.
