Bosniak-Serb Alliance
The Bosniak-Serb Alliance ( sr-cyr, Бошњачко-српски савез, Bošnjačko-srpski savez; abbr. БОСС / BOSS) is a political party in the Sandžak region of Serbia, established in October 2022. Its leader is Samir Tandir, who was a leading figure in Muamer Zukorlić's political movement for several years and served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2020 to 2022 as a member of the Justice and Reconciliation Party (''Stranka pravde i pomirenja'', SPP). History Samir Tandir was a member of the SPP and its antecedent parties between 2010 and 2022 and was a prominent ally of Chief Mufti Muamer Zukorlić. When the latter figure died in November 2021, control of the SPP passed to his son, Usame Zukorlić. Sandžak
Sandžak (; sh, / , ; sq, Sanxhaku; ota, سنجاق, Sancak), also known as Sanjak, is a historical geo-political region in Serbia and Montenegro. The name Sandžak derives from the Sanjak of Novi Pazar, a former Ottoman administrative district founded in 1865. Serbs usually refer to the region by its medieval name of Raška. Between 1878 and 1909 the region was placed under Austro-Hungarian occupation, following which it was ceded back to the Ottoman Empire. In 1912 the region was divided between the kingdoms of Montenegro and Serbia. The most populous city in the region is Novi Pazar in Serbia. Samir Tandir
Samir Tandir ( sr-Cyrl, Самир Тандир; born 3 March 1984) is a Serbian politician from the country's Bosniak community. He was a leading figure in Muamer Zukorlić's political movement for several years and served in the National Assembly of Serbia from 2020 to 2022 as a member of the Justice and Reconciliation Party (SPP). Tandir became alienated from the SPP's new leadership after Muamer Zukorlić's death in 2021 and left the party after his parliamentary term ended. In October 2022, he formed a new political party called the Bosniak-Serb Alliance (BOSS). He is currently the vice-president of the Prijepolje municipal assembly. Muamer Zukorlić
Muamer Zukorlić (; 15 February 1970 – 6 November 2021) was a Serbian politician and Islamic theologian who served as the president and chief Mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia. An ethnic Bosniak, he served as an MP from 2016 to 2020 and as the vice president of the National Assembly of Serbia from October 2020 until his death. Early life Zukorlić was born on 15 February 1970 in Orlje near Tutin, SFR Yugoslavia, where he grew up with his family. He attended primary school in the village of Ribariće and the Gazi Husrev-beg madrasa in Sarajevo. The Justice and Reconciliation Party ( bs, Stranka pravde i pomirenja; sr, Странка правде и помирења; abbr. Usame Zukorlić ( sr-cyrl, Усаме Зукорлић; born 1992) is a Serbian politician and economist serving as a member of the National Assembly since 1 August 2022. 2022 Serbian Parliamentary Election
General elections were held in Serbia on 3 April 2022 to elect both the president and members of the National Assembly. Initially, parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in 2024; however, in October 2020 president Aleksandar Vučić stated that snap parliamentary elections would be held in or before April 2022. Bosniak National Council
The Bosniak National Council ( bs, Bošnjačko nacionalno vijeće, Бошњачко национално вијеће) is a representative body of the Bosniak national minority in Serbia. It was founded as the Muslim National Council of Sandžak (MNVS) on 11 May 1991. Its first president and founder is Sulejman Ugljanin. Until 2003, the Bosniak National Council was called the Bosniak National Council of Sandžak (BNVS), after which it took its current name. Throughout the 1990s, it actively sought autonomy for the Sandžak region and its eventual unification with the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
