Amel Mekić
Amel Mekić (born 21 September 1981) is a retired Bosnian judoka. He won a gold medal at European Judo Championships in 2011, beating five opponents on a way, including two Olympic medalists Ariel Ze'evi and Henk Grol. Mekić was part of the Bosnian Olympic team at the 2008 Summer Olympics (achieved 9th place after four fights) and at the 2012 Summer Olympics (lost in the first round). He was the Bosnian flag-bearer at both the 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Although he never managed to win either Olympic or World medal, Mekić beat several Olympic and World medalists during his career, including Olympic champion Pawel Nastula, as well as World champions Frederic Demontfaucon, Dennis van der Geest and Luciano Corrêa. Miroslav "Ćiro" Blažević (; born 10 February 1935) is a Croatian former professional football manager and player. His professional playing career spanned from 1954 to 1966, during which he played for Dinamo Zagreb, Lokomotiva Zagreb, FK Sarajevo, HNK Rijeka and Swiss clubs FC Sion and FC Moutier. As a manager, his most successful period was with the Croatia national team, which he led to the quarter-finals in the 1996 European Championship and won third place at the 1998 FIFA World Cup. Larisa Cerić (born 26 January 1991) is a Bosnian judoka competing in the women's +78 kg division. She won a silver medal at the 2014 European Judo Championships and a bronze medal at the 2018 World Judo Championships. At the 2019 European Games Cerić won a silver medal, only ever European Games medal for her country. She also won a gold medal at World Judo Juniors Championships in 2009, which is still the only world title in any Olympic sport for Bosnia and Herzegovina. Edin Džeko (; born 17 March 1986) is a Bosnian professional footballer who plays as a striker for club Inter Milan and captains the Bosnia and Herzegovina national team. Džeko was named Bosnian Footballer of the Year for three years in a row. He has been nicknamed "Bosnian Diamond" ( bs, Bosanski dijamant) or simply "Diamond" (''Dijamant'') by football fans and journalists in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Almedin Fetahović (born 19 May 1964) is a Bosnian professional boxing coach and former amateur boxer. He is best known for winning the gold medal at the 1993 Mediterranean Games in France. It was the first gold medal ever for Bosnia and Herzegovina at a major international multi-sport event. In the quarterfinals of the -71kg category Fetahović defeated 1995 All-Africa Games Gold medalist Mohamed Marmouri, while in the semifinals he beat 1992 European Junior Championships Bronze medalist Salvatore Munno. Lucia Kimani Mwahiki-Marčetić (born 21 June 1981) is a Kenyan-born Bosnian long-distance runner who holds four Bosnian records over different distances. In 2004, she married her Bosnian Serb husband Siniša Marčetić. They met earlier that year in Salzburg, Austria, where they ran a half-marathon race. On 19 August 2005, they moved to Bosnia and Herzegovina and currently live in Banja Luka. Her husband is from Prijedor. In 2006 Lucia received Bosnian citizenship. Lucia was part of the Bosnian Olympic team at the 2008 Summer Olympics. She withdrew from the 2012 marathon race due to a back injury, but competed at the 2016 Rio Olympics.
