Boshret Kheir
"Boshret Kheir" ( ar, بشرة خير ), ( en, "Good Omen") is an Egyptian-folk song performed by Emirati singer Hussain Al Jassmi dedicated from him to Egypt and was released on May 16, 2014, showing clips of Egyptians dancing in different areas of the country, in an effort to unite them and convince them to vote. Most of the Egyptians depicted hold up posters with phrases such as "vote", "get out there", and "your voice counts". The video was filmed in eight Egyptian provinces by eight different cameras and was put together in less than a day. The creator of the song, Ayman Qamar, planned on singing it himself but found out that Al Jassmi was coming to Egypt, and offered to sing the song himself to show his love for Egypt. Hussain Al Jassmi
Hussain Al Jassmi ( ar, حسين الجسمي ; born August 25, 1979) is an Emirati pianist, composer, musician and singer who is well known in the Arab world. Al Jassmi was born in Khorfakkan in August 1979 to Emirati parents. He released his first single "Bawada'ak" followed by "Wallah Mayiswa" and "Bassbour Al Fourgakom". In 2008, Al Jassmi received the Murex d'Or award, under the category of "Best Arabic Male Singer." His most popular song is an Egyptian Shaabi song, called " Boshret Kheir", written and composed by Amr Mostafa as a pro-elections campaign in Egypt. Al Jassmi had many concerts all around the world. One of his well known performances include a performance in the Vatican's annual Christmas concert, becoming the first Arab to do so. He also has multiple events and concerts in the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, elsewhere in the Middle East and as performed at the opening ceremony of Expo 2020 in Dubai, UAE. 2013 Egyptian Coup D'état
The 2013 Egyptian coup d'etat took place on 3 July 2013. Egyptian army chief General Abdel Fattah al-Sisi led a coalition to remove the democratically elected President of Egypt, Mohamed Morsi, from power and suspended the Egyptian constitution of 2012. The move came after the military's ultimatum for the government to "resolve its differences" with protesters during widespread national protests. The military arrested Morsi and Muslim Brotherhood leaders, and declared Chief Justice of the Supreme Constitutional Court Adly Mansour as the interim president of Egypt. The announcement was followed by demonstrations and clashes between supporters and opponents of the move throughout Egypt. There were mixed international reactions to the events. 2014 Egyptian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Egypt between 26 and 28 May 2014. There were only two candidates, former Egyptian defence minister Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Egyptian Popular Current candidate Hamdeen Sabahi. El-Sisi won the election in a landslide victory, having received 97% of votes. Before announcing his candidacy in the election, el-Sisi, who as Defence Minister also served as Commander-in-Chief of the Egyptian Armed Forces, was responsible for officially announcing the removal of president Mohamed Morsi from office in the aftermath of the June 2013 Egyptian protests. After Morsi's removal, Sisi installed a temporary interim government, but remained Egypt's Minister of Defence and assumed the role of the country's First Deputy Prime Minister.
