Boryspilska (Kyiv Metro)
Boryspilska ( uk, Бориспільська, ) is a station on Kyiv Metro's Syretsko-Pecherska Line. Designed by architects V. Gnevyshev, T. Tselikovska and A. Yukhnovsky, the station is a shallow level single-vault ( Kharkiv Technology). Although planned to open in the late 1990s, financial offsets put off the date to 23 August 2005, when it was opened to the public. Decoratively the station's main theme is an aviation inspired "high-tech" design. The station is last of the six on the Mykoly Bazhana avenue, which after the main roundabout that forms the Kharkivska square, becomes the Boryspiske Motorway (M03/ E40), that continues into the town of Boryspil and Boryspil International Airport, and then onto Poltava and Kharkiv. This location contributes the station's name and also to most of its passengers being commuters rather than local residents. Darnytskyi District
Darnytskyi District ( uk, Дарницький район, ), is an urban district of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. It is the southeastern district of Kyiv located on the left bank of Dnipro river. It borders the Holosiivskyi District of the city to its west, across the river, Dniprovskyi District of city to its north, and the Brovary Raion of the Kyiv Oblast to its east and Boryspil Raion of Kyiv Oblast to its east and south. The population of the city raion is estimated around 348,000 inhabitants. Kyiv Metro
The Kyiv Metro ( uk, Ки́ївський метрополіте́н, Kyivskyi metropoliten, ) is a rapid transit system in Kyiv that is owned by the Kyiv City Council and operated by the city-owned company Kyivsky Metropoliten''.'' It was initially opened on November 6th, 1960, as a single line with five stations. It was the first rapid transit system in Ukraine and the third in the Soviet Union, after the Moscow and St. Petersburg metros. Tamara Tselikovska
Tamara Oleksiivna Tselikovska (17 November 1935 – 12 July 2019) was a Ukrainian architect, member of the Union of Architects of Ukraine since 1969, Honored Architect of Ukraine (1995). Biography Tamara Tselikovska was born in 1935 in the city of Yelets, Lipetsk region, Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic. From 1953 to 1959, she studied at the Faculty of Architecture of the Kyiv Civil Engineering Institute. From 1959 to 1963, Tselikovska worked at the Research Institute of Building Structures of the Academy of Civil Engineering and Architecture of the Ukrainian SSR. Since 1963 Tselikovska has been the architect of the Kyivmetroproekt design institute, the Kyiv branch of the Metrodiprotrans design and survey institute. In 1994, the Kyivmetroproekt Institute was renamed PI Ukrmetrotunelproekt, where she worked until 2014 as the head of the architectural and planning workshop and the chief architect of the project. European Route E40
European route E40 is the longest European route, more than long, connecting Calais in France via Belgium, Germany, Poland, Ukraine, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan, with Ridder in Kazakhstan near the border with Russia and China. A different route connecting Calais and Ridder is about shorter, mostly using the E30 via Berlin-Moscow-Omsk. Boryspil
Boryspil ( uk, Бориспіль, translit. ''Boryspil'') is a city and the administrative center of Boryspil Raion in Kyiv Oblast (region) in northern (central) Ukraine. It hosts the administration of Boryspil urban hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The population was estimated as Name Official sources state that the city derives its name from Prince Boris, of Boris and Gleb, two sons of Vladimir the Great, who were both murdered during the internecine wars of 1015–1019. According to Petro Tronko in his History of cities and villages in Ukrainian SSR, the locality where Boryspil is located was named as "Borysove pole" (Borys's field) when in 1015 a son of Vladimir the Great Borys returning from another raid against Pechenegs died from hands of hired assassins. Boryspil International Airport
Boryspil International Airport ( uk, Міжнародний аеропорт «Бориспіль») is an international airport in Boryspil, east of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. It is Ukraine's largest airport, serving 65% of its passenger air traffic, including all its intercontinental flights and a majority of international flights. Chervony Khutir (Kyiv Metro)
Chervonyi Khutir ( uk, Червоний хутір, ) is the terminus station of the Kyiv Metro's Syretsko-Pecherska Line. It opened on 23 May 2008. The station's name arises from an old village " Chervonyi Khutir" that was subsequently absorbed into Kyiv city limits and is now an industrial neighbourhood. The station is located amidst a woodland and at first was unlikely to have any passengers at all. However, there is currently a much greater need for the station because it is right next Kyiv's third depot, ''Kharkivske'', which has been a much-needed acquisition to the line since the mid-1990s, yet due to financial difficulties caused by recessions, construction only began in 2004. Chervonyi Khutir is also part of much larger plan to have the line snake around the south-eastern districts of Kyiv and then come back up north-westwards towards the new Darnytsia Railway Station and the Darnytsia metro station of the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska Line.
