''Borunsi'' ( fa, خاکهای نرم کوشک) is a selection of memoirs written by the family and friends of Abd-al-Hussain Borunsi, the commander of the 18th Brigade of Javadolaemeh during the Iran–Iraq War. Written by Saeed A'kef, the book has been reprinted more than 200 times since its first edition in 2004, and is amongst the bestselling books in Iran. Background Abd-al-Hussain Borunsi was born in 1942 in a village in Khorasan, Iran. In his early life he worked in construction whilst studying religious texts on the side. He was imprisoned and tortured by SAVAK due to his intense resistance to the Pahlavi dynasty. He was killed on 14 March 1985, in the operational area of Operation Badr (1985) whilst he was commanding the 18th Brigade of Javadolaemeh. His body was left in the operational area. In his early life he worked in construction whilst studying religious texts on the side. He was imprisoned and tortured by SAVAK due to his intense resistance to the Pahlavi dynasty. Saeed Akef ( fa, سعید عاکف, born 1972) is an Iranian author and memoir writer who often writes about the Iran–Iraq War. His books have been one of the most widely published books about that war. '' Borunsi'' (2004) has been reprinted more than 200 times since its first edition, and is amongst the bestselling books in Iran. ''Nasime Taghdir'' (''Breeze of Destiny'') has been a nominee in the 10th Holy Defense Year Book Award. Life and careers Saeed Akef was born in Tehran in 1972. He completed his primary education in Tehran. After a while he became interested in the field of religious studies and therefore immigrated to Mashhad to continue his studies. ''Journey to Heading 270 Degrees'' ( fa, سفر به گرای ۲۷۰ درجه) is a novel by Ahmad Dehqan. The novel is set during the Iran–Iraq War and focuses on the experiences of a high school student who participates in several operations named Naser. Over 15,000 copies were published in Iran. In 1996, the book received the award for Best Novel in the War-Themed category. In 2006, the book was translated from Persian to English by Rutgers professor Paul Sprachman and published by Mazda Publishers. The novel is available at the Library of Congress. The book is used as reading material in the "Introduction to the Literature of the Modern Middle East" course available at Rutgers. ''That Which That Orphan Saw'' ( fa, آنک آن یتیم نظر کرده) is a novel by Iranian author Mohammad Reza Sarshar about the life of Mohammad, the prophet of Islam. Sarshar has attempted to describe the tumultuous and unique life of Mohammad in the novel. Muslims believe that Mohammad was the last prophet and the most complete human being. ''That Which That Orphan Saw'' has received numerous awards and has been reprinted many times in Iran. ''Eternal Fragrance'' ( fa, یکشنبه آخر, "Last Sunday") is a book written by Masoumeh Ramhormozi about the Iran–Iraq war (1980–88). Masoumeh, who was 14 at the time, was a social worker in a field hospital during the war. The English translation of ''The Last Sunday'', titled ''Eternal Fragrance'', was launched at the 66th Frankfurt Book Fair.
