Subdivisions of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, include the formal administrative subdivision into urban districts (raions) and the more detailed informal subdivision into historical neighborhoods. Kyiv is divided in two halves split by Dnieper, therefore there exist two important parts "left-bank Kyiv" and "right-bank Kyiv" in reference to the Dnieper. History of subdivision The first known formal subdivision of Kyiv dates to 1810 when the city was subdivided into 4 parts: Pechersk, Starokyiv, and the first and the second parts of Podil. In 1833–1834 according to Tsar Nicholas I's decree, Kyiv was subdivided into 6 police districts; later being increased to 10. As of 1917, there were 8 district councils (''Duma''), which were reorganized by Pavlo Skoropadskyi into 17 raions. In 1924, Bolsheviks reorganized them into the bigger six party-administrated districts with various sub-districts under Hryhoriy Hrynko administration. Darnytskyi District ( uk, Дарницький район, ), is an urban district of the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. It is the southeastern district of Kyiv located on the left bank of Dnipro river. It borders the Holosiivskyi District of the city to its west, across the river, Dniprovskyi District of city to its north, and the Brovary Raion of the Kyiv Oblast to its east and Boryspil Raion of Kyiv Oblast to its east and south. The population of the city raion is estimated around 348,000 inhabitants. Shchaslyve, Boryspil Raion, Kyiv Oblast
Shchaslyve ( uk, Щасливе) is a village in Boryspil Raion, Kyiv Oblast that borders Kyiv city. It hosts the administration of Prystolychna rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. Along with a settlement Prolisky, it composes the Shchaslyve Rural council (Ukraine), rural council which is the biggest council in the district. The village and the council are located along the Kyiv-Kharkiv highway Highway M03 (Ukraine), M03 on the way to the Boryspil International Airport. The village contains sports facility and used to house the FC Knyazha Shchaslyve. Since 2014 in Shchaslyve plays the FC Arsenal-Kyiv. The village was created in 1969 as part of Bortnychi state farm. Prolisky
Prolisky ( uk, Проліски) is a settlement on the eastern edge of the city of Kyiv, in Boryspil Raion, Kyiv Oblast of Ukraine. It belongs to Prystolychna rural hromada, one of the hromadas of Ukraine. The name of the village is derived from the Ukrainian word "Пролісок", which can be translated as "snowdrop" or "Galanthus". Local government The local council is located in Shchaslyve, a neighboring village located on the opposite side of the Boryspil Highway, which connects Kyiv and the Boryspil International Airport and is part of Highway M-03, Kyiv-Kharkiv. Several big projects have been planned in the area because of the UEFA Euro 2012, including the construction of the new Business Park "Prolisky" and the Boryspil Plaza. The area is home to the Ukrainian soccer club FC Knyazha Shchaslyve.
