	Lancelot Alexander Borradaile Lancelot Alexander Borradaile (1872 – 20 October 1945) was an English zoologist, noted for his work on crustaceans and his books ''The Invertebrata'' and ''Manual of Elementary Zoology''. Legacy Borradaile may be best known for his undergraduate textbook titled ''Manual of Elementary Zoology'', and for ''The Invertebrata: a manual for the use of students'', co-written with F. A. Potts. As well as these generalist works, Borradaile also worked as a carcinologist. He published an important monograph ''On the Pontoniinae'' in 1917, based on material collected by the 1905 Percy Sladen Trust Expedition to the Indian Ocean, led by John Stanley Gardiner. He worked extensively on crabs and similar animals, and coined the term "carcinisation" to describe "one of the many attempts of Nature to evolve a crab". 	Osmond Borradaile Osmond Hudson Borradaile (17 July 1898 – 23 March 1999) was a Canadian cameraman, cinematographer, and veteran of World War I and World War II. Biography Born in 1898 in Winnipeg, Osmond Borradaile grew up in Alberta, moving often during his childhood. While living in Medicine Hat, he saw one of his first movies when he was seven years old. He started in Hollywood filming silent movies during which period he made movies starring, among others, Wallace Reid and legends such as Rudolph Valentino, Gloria Swanson, and Lillian Gish. He then went on to "talkies" working closely on numerous films with Cecil B. DeMille. He filmed the aerial sequences for Howard Hughes' '' Hell's Angels'' (Hughes was his pilot), this being a precursor to the location and outdoor shooting that would become his trademark. 	Oswell Borradaile Oswell Robert Borradaile (9 May 1859 – 11 May 1935) was an English cricketer and a cricket administrator who was the secretary of Essex County Cricket Club for 31 years from 1890. The son of The Reverend Abraham Borradaile, he was born at Westminster in May 1859. He was educated at Westminster School, where he was in Grant's House. A right-handed batsman and right-arm Seam bowling, medium pace bowler, Borradaile had played minor matches for Essex from 1891. 	Borradaile Island Borradaile Island () is one of the Balleny Islands. It was the site of the first landing south of the Antarctic Circle, and features the "remarkable pinnacle" called ''Beale Pinnacle'', near Cape Beale on its south-eastern coast, and Cape Scoresby on its north-western coast. Exploration Borradaile Island was discovered in February 1839 by John Balleny, who named it for W. Borradaile, one of the merchants who united with Charles Enderby in sending out the expedition. The first landing on the island was by Captain Freeman of the cutter ''Sabrina'' on February 12, 1839, who landed briefly on a spit at the islands north-west corner. This was the first time a human set foot south of the Antarctic Circle. The island was not visited again until February 29, 1948, when a party of Australians, including Phillip Law and Stuart Campbell, landed at the same point from .
