Tadeusz Borowski
Tadeusz Borowski (; 12 November 1922 – 3 July 1951) was a Polish writer and journalist. His wartime poetry and stories dealing with his experiences as a prisoner at Auschwitz are recognized as classics of Polish literature. Early life Borowski was born in 1922 into the Polish community in Zhytomyr, Ukrainian SSR (today Ukraine). In 1926, his father, whose bookstore had been nationalized by the communists, was sent to a camp in the Gulag system in Russian Karelia because he had been a member of a Polish military organization during World War I. In 1930, Borowski's mother was deported to a settlement on the shores of the Yenisey, in Siberia, during Collectivization. During this time Tadeusz lived with his aunt. Borowski and his family were targeted (as Poles) by the Soviet Union during Stalin's Great Terror. Tim Borowski (born 2 May 1980) is a German football assistant manager of Werder Bremen and a former professional midfielder. Borowski spent 11 years of his 12-year professional career with Werder Bremen, amassing Bundesliga totals of 236 games and 32 goals and winning three major titles, including the 2004 national championship. Joe Borowski (politician)
Joseph Paul Borowski (December 12, 1932 – September 23, 1996) was a Canadian politician and activist. From 1969 to 1971, he was a cabinet minister in Manitoba Premier Edward Schreyer's New Democratic Party (NDP) government. Subsequently, he gained national fame for his opposition to abortion. Early life Borowski was born in Wishart, Saskatchewan, and was educated at Birchcreek School in that province. He subsequently moved to Sudbury, Ontario, and Thompson, Manitoba, to work as a miner and steelworker. Borowski was Vice-President of the United Steelworkers of America Local 6166 in 1964-65, and helped to win municipal incorporation for Thompson at around the same time. He retired from manual labour in his 30s, and became the owner of a gift shop. Joseph Thomas Borowski (born May 4, 1971) is a sports broadcaster for the Arizona Diamondbacks, as well as a former professional baseball right-handed relief pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball for the Baltimore Orioles, Atlanta Braves, New York Yankees, Chicago Cubs, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Florida Marlins, and Cleveland Indians. He is noted for his instrumental role in the modernization of the army. Early life Borowski was born in Wilno (present-day Vilnius, Lithuania) in the Polish–Lithuanian Commonwealth, at the time a shadow of its former self. Wacław Borowski
Wacław Borowski (August 6, 1885 – April 9, 1954) was a Polish painter and decorative artist. He was born and died in Łódź. He studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under Józef Mehoffer who was one of the leading artists of the Young Poland movement and one of the most revered Polish artists of his time. He spent the years of 1909–1913 in Paris copying works of the old masters at the Louvre. He later traveled to Italy to study the Renaissance masters in the place of its origin. In 1920 Borowski was a volunteer fighter for the Polish forces in the Polish-Bolshevik War. In 1926 he cofounded and was a vital part of Warsaw's artistic groups RYTM. He also competed in the art competitions at the 1932 Summer Olympics. Marek Stefan Borowski (; born 4 January 1946 in Warsaw, Poland) is a Polish left-wing politician. He led the Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) for a time and was Speaker of the Sejm (the lower, more powerful, house of Poland's parliament) from 2001 to 2004. Felix Borowski
Felix Borowski (March 10, 1872 – September 6, 1956) was a British/American composer and teacher. He taught composers Silvestre Revueltas and Louise Cooper Spindle at Chicago Musical College. Life and career Felix Borowski was of Polish descent but was born in the English village of Burton-in-Kendal, Westmorland. His father, who was quite a musician, was of distinguished Polish stock. His mother was English and very accomplished in music. His father gave him his first instruction on the piano as well as on the violin . He was educated in London and at the Cologne Conservatory. He then taught the piano and the violin for a while in Aberdeen, Scotland. At this time Borowski had begun to publish smaller compositions for piano and violin. Edmund Borowski
Edmund Borowski (23 January 1945 – 22 August 2022) was a Polish sprinter who specialized in the 400 metres. At the 1966 European Championships he won a gold medal in the 4 x 400 metres relay together with Jan Werner, Stanisław Grędziński and Andrzej Badeński. At the 1967 European Indoor Games he won a silver medal in the 4 x 300 metres relay, which he ran together with Edward Romanowski, Ján Balachowski and Tadeusz Jaworski. At the 1968 European Indoor Games he won a silver medal in the medley relay, which he ran with Marian Dudziak, Waldemar Korycki and Andrzej Badeński. Another silver medal in medley relay followed at the 1970 European Indoor Championships, this time together with Stanisław Waśkiewicz, Kazimierz Wardak and Eryk Żelazny.
