Bornfree Technologies Network
BTN Television, an acronym for Bornfree Technologies Network, is a television broadcaster on Arua Hill where they moved in 2015, after starting from Anyafio, a suburb of Arua. It is registered by Uganda Communications Commission to broadcast on UHF 23 in West Nile and UHF 61 in Kampala. It was the first television station from Arua and West Nile. It started broadcasts from the northern end of the outer crescent road off Oda Road. History BTN started test broadcasts in 2003, but celebrated 10 years of existence in 2014 alongside its sister radio station - 94.1 Nile FM that was launched in 2004. It is famous for premiering music videos by West Nile artistes who do not get enough airplay on other Ugandan TV stations. English and Lugbara are the most common languages heard on the station. Arua is a city and commercial centre within the Arua District in the Northern Region of Uganda. The Uganda Communications Commission ''(UCC)'' is the government regulatory body of the communications sector in Uganda. Although owned by the Ugandan government, it acts independently. Its mandated responsibilities include licensing, regulation, communications infrastructure development and the expansion of rural communications service. West Nile sub-region, previously known as West Nile Province and West Nile District, is a sub-region in north-western Uganda, in the Northern Region of Uganda. Location The sub-region is bordered by the Democratic Republic of the Congo to the south and west, by South Sudan to the north and by the Albert Nile to the east. Lugbara Language
Lugbara, or Lugbarati, is the language of the Lugbara people. It is spoken in the West Nile sub-region, West Nile region in northwestern Uganda, as well as the Democratic Republic of the Congo's Orientale Province. Classification and dialects The Aringa language, also known as Low Lugbara, is closely related, and sometimes considered a dialect of Lugbara. If fact, among the Lugbara of Uganda, it is one of the five clans (Ayivu clan, Vurra clan, Terego clan, Maracha clan, and Aringa clan). Some scholars classify the Lugbara language itself as a dialect of the Madi language (Sudan and Uganda), Ma'di language, though this is not generally accepted. An SIL survey report concluded that the Okollo, Ogoko, and Rigbo dialects, called "Southern Ma'di", should be classified as dialects of Lugbara. BBC Television
BBC Television is a service of the BBC. The corporation has operated a public broadcast television service in the United Kingdom, under the terms of a royal charter, since 1927.
