Born Late
''Born Late'' is the second studio album released by pop singer, Shaun Cassidy. The album was released in 1977 following the success of Cassidy's self-titled debut album. The album yielded two hit singles. The first, "Hey Deanie", was written by Eric Carmen, who also wrote the song "That's Rock 'n' Roll" (which was a hit from Cassidy's first solo album). "Hey Deanie" reached #7 in early 1978. For the second single, also following the formula of his first album, Cassidy remade a 1960s hit, in this case The Lovin' Spoonful's " Do You Believe in Magic?" (which was written by John Sebastian). That single became a modest hit, peaking at #31 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100. ''Born Late'' was certified platinum. Unlike his first album, Cassidy wrote or co-wrote half of the songs. The track "It's Up To You" was co-written with Cassidy by ''Lost In Space'' child-star Billy Mumy. The ''Billboard'' Hot 100 is the music industry standard record chart in the United States for songs, published weekly by '' Billboard'' magazine. Chart rankings are based on sales (physical and digital), radio play, and online streaming in the United States. The weekly tracking period for sales was initially Monday to Sunday when Nielsen started tracking sales in 1991, but was changed to Friday to Thursday in July 2015. This tracking period also applies to compiling online streaming data. The Kent Music Report was a weekly record chart of Australian music singles and albums which was compiled by music enthusiast David Kent from May 1974 through to January 1999. The chart was re-branded the Australian Music Report (AMR) in July 1987. From June 1988, the Australian Recording Industry Association, which had been using the top 50 portion of the report under licence since mid-1983, chose to produce their own listing as the ARIA Charts. Before the Kent Report, ''Go-Set'' magazine published weekly Top-40 Singles from 1966, and Album charts from 1970 until the magazine's demise in August 1974. Anthony Toby Hiller (30 July 1927 – 26 August 2018) was an English songwriter and record producer. He was best known for writing and/or producing hits for Brotherhood of Man, including " United We Stand" (1970) and "Save Your Kisses for Me" (1976). John Goodison (musician)
John Kenneth Goodison (born 1943 Coventry, Warwickshire, England died September 3, 1988 Coventry, England) who first appeared as Johnny B. Great, was an English rock musician, songwriter and record producer. He was best known as vocalist for his later project Big John's Rock and Roll Circus, which had a number 1 hit in South Africa. He also used the pseudonyms Peter Simmons and Peter Simons for co-writing songs for such as The Brotherhood of Man; Goodison was in the Brotherhood's original line-up from its foundation in 1969, co-writing and performing its 1970 chart hits "United We Stand" and "Where Are You Going to My Love" as well as other songs before leaving the group in 1971. Roger John Reginald Greenaway, (born 23 August 1938) is an English singer, songwriter and record producer, best known for his collaborations with Roger Cook. Edward Brigati Jr. (born October 22, 1945) is an American singer-songwriter. He was the co-lead vocalist, along with Felix Cavaliere, and percussionist in the rock group The Young Rascals from 1964 to 1970. Prior to his stint with The Young Rascals (who later shortened their name to The Rascals), Brigati had been a member of Joey Dee and the Starliters (having replaced his brother, original Starliter David Brigati, in that group). Felix Cavaliere (born November 29, 1942) is an American musician and singer-songwriter. He is best known for being the lead vocalist and keyboard player for the Young Rascals. Although he was a member of Joey Dee and the Starliters, known for their hit "Peppermint Twist", he is best known for his association with the Young Rascals during the 1960s.
