Boris Lavrenev
Boris Andreyevich Lavrenyov (russian: Борис Андреевич Лавренёв) (real name Sergeyev), (July 16 Old_Style_and_New_Style_dates.html" ;"title="nowiki/>Old Style and New Style dates">O.S. July 4 1891 – January 7, 1959) was a Soviet Union">Soviet Russian writer and playwright. Lavrenyov was born to the family of a literature teacher. He received his education at the Law department of the Moscow State University, Moscow University. At the time he wrote poetry and joined a Moscow Futurists group called ''Mezonin poezii'' (A Mezzanine of Poetry). He fought in World War I and the Russian Civil War. During the latter he took part in combat in Turkmenistan, served as a commander of an armoured train, and also wrote for the Red Army military newspaper. His poetry was first published in 1911 and his prose works in 1924. He was twice awarded the Stalin Prize – in 1946 and 1950. Prose
Prose is a form of written or spoken language that follows the natural flow of speech, uses a language's ordinary grammatical structures, or follows the conventions of formal academic writing. It differs from most traditional poetry, where the form consists of verse (writing in lines) based on rhythmic metre or rhyme. The word "prose" first appears in English in the 14th century.
