Borili District
Borili ( kk, Бөрілі ауданы, ) is a district of West Kazakhstan Region in western Kazakhstan. The administrative center of the district is the town of Aksay. Population: Geography The district is located in the north-eastern part of the West Kazakhstan region. The district borders on three districts of the West Kazakhstan region and in the north along the Ilek and Ural river with the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation. The territory of the district covers an area of 5.6 thousand square kilometers. The climate is continental. Summers are hot, winters are harsh. The average temperature in January is — -15 °C, in July - 24 °C. The average annual rainfall is 200-250 mm. The subsoil is rich in oil and gas (the Karachaganak Field). Located in the desert zone. West Kazakhstan Region ( kk, Батыс Қазақстан облысы, translit=Batys Qazaqstan oblysy; russian: Западно-Казахстанская область, translit=Zapadno-Kazakhstanskaya oblast) is a region of Kazakhstan. Ilek (river)
The Ilek ( kk, Елек, ''Elek'', russian: Илек) is a river in the Aktobe Region, Kazakhstan, and Orenburg Oblast, Russia. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The river basin is of archeological significance. There are burial sites of ancient Kurgan (Indo-European) cultures. Course The Ilek is a left tributary of the Ural. It is a steppe river, flowing at the southern end of the Ural Mountains. It rises just south of Orsk, flows south a short distance and then flows westward south of and parallel to the river Ural, with many meanders and oxbow lakes, and joins the Ural about west of Orenburg. Karachaganak Field
Karachaganak Field ( kk, Қарашығанақ мұнай-газ конденсат кен орны, ''Qarashyǵanaq munaı-gaz kondensat ken orny'') is a gas condensate field about east of Aksay (Ақсай) in northwest Kazakhstan. It was once a massive Permian and Carboniferous reef complex covering an area . At its largest point, the reservoir contains a gas column deep with a deep oil rim below it.
