Kamalanagar (Mizoram)
Kamalanagar is a township in Lawngtlai district in the state of Mizoram in India. It is located on the western bank of river Toizung in Tuichawng subdivision and facing the other part of Chawngte township, which is located on the eastern bank but in Lawngtlai subdivision of Lawngtlai district and Lunglei district. It is the headquarters of Chakma Autonomous District Council which covers the Tuichawng subdivision of Lawngtlai district, one of the three autonomous district councils within Mizoram. It is located in the south-western part of the state. Villages Kamalanagar under Chakma Autonomous District Council covers the Kamalanagar - I, Kamalanagar - II, Kamalanagar - III and Kamalanagar - IV villages while Chawngte-P comes under Lawngtlai subdivision which lies in Lai Autonomous District Council and Chawnge-L in Lunglei district. Lawngtlai District
Lawngtlai district is one of the eleven districts of Mizoram state in India. The district is bounded on the north by Lunglei district, on the west by Bangladesh, on the south by Myanmar and on the east by Saiha district. The district occupies an area of 2557.10 km2. Lawngtlai town is the administrative headquarters of the district. The district shares its boundaries with Lunglei and Saiha districts on the north and south respectively. The inhabitants of the district are mainly the ethnic groups of tribals like Pang, Lai and Chakma, who are among the minor tribal communities of Mizoram. The main occupation is cultivation and the rural population largely depends on agriculture for their subsistence. Borapansury I is an Indian village in Chawngte Block of Lawngtlai district, part of the Chakma Autonomous District Council, in Mizoram, India. Chakma Autonomous District Council
The Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) is an autonomous council for the Chakma people living in the south-western part of Mizoram, India. It covers the Tuichawng (Chawngte) subdivision of Lawngtlai district. Its headquarters is at Kamalanagar. The Chakma people has been demanding to change the status of the Chakma Autonomous District Council into a Union territory under the name Chakmaland. The Chakma Autonomous District Council was formed under the Sixth schedule of the Constitution of India on 29 April 1972. The Council is the replication of the state assembly and exercises executive power over specially allotted departments.
