Solapur Airport (सोलापूर विमानतळ) is a public airport located in Solapur, in the state of Maharashtra, India. History The airport was built by Indian Defence Authorities in September 1948 during the police action operation on the ex-Hyderabad State. The base, however, was not maintained after the operation. It was re-built in 1987 and was run and maintained by the Public Works Department. Kingfisher Red operated an ATR 72 service to Mumbai in February 2009 four times a week but was discontinued in August 2010.
