Boone Formation
The Boone Formation a discrete and definable unit of cherty limestone rock strata located in northwest Arkansas and northeast Oklahoma. The stratigraphy of the Boone Formation dates to the Mississippian age. The Boone Formation is rich in fossils, and occasionally preserves the remains of sharks' teeth in outcrops along Buffalo National River. Equivalent rocks of the Osagean in southwest Missouri include the Pierson Limestone, Fern Glen Formation, Reeds Spring Formation, Elsey Formation (including the Grand Falls Chert), Burlington Limestone and the Keokuk Limestone The Keokuk Limestone is a geologic formation in Illinois, Iowa and Missouri Missouri is a state in the Midwestern region of the United States. Interstate 49 (I-49) is a north–south Interstate Highway that exists in multiple segments: the original portion entirely within the state of Louisiana with an additional signed portion extending from Interstate 220 (Louisiana), I-220 in Shreveport, Louisiana, Shreveport to the Arkansas state line, three newer sections in Arkansas, and a new section that opened in Missouri. Its southern terminus is in Lafayette, Louisiana, at Interstate 10 in Louisiana, I-10 while its northern terminus is in Kansas City, Missouri, at I-435 and Interstate 470 (Missouri), I-470. Shark Tooth
Sharks continually shed their teeth; some Carcharhiniformes shed approximately 35,000 teeth in a lifetime, replacing those that fall out. Burlington Limestone
The Burlington Limestone is a geologic formation in Missouri, Iowa and the Midwest region. It preserves fossils dating back to the Mississippian subperiod. Physical properties Burlington Limestone is unusually course-grained, crystalline, crinoidal limestone. Its texture is sufficiently distinctive and persistent to permit recognition of the formation commonly on this basis alone. The Burlington Limestone is made of almost entirely on the remains of various fossils, by far the most important of which are crinoids. Some portions of the Burlington, however, are not so evidently crinoidal, as for example, the so-called "white ledge" quarried in the northeastern part of Missouri.
