Boom Desjardins
Daniel "Boom" Desjardins (born 1971) is a French Canadian singer from Val-d'Or, Quebec. He was an original member of the rock band La Chicane for eleven years, from 1993 until 2004, when he left to begin a solo career. Desjardins was nominated for Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2006. Personal life Desjardins has been known by the nickname of "Boom" for most of his life. As an infant, he learned to walk at an early age and was a boisterous child; his family noted the similarity to the character of Bamm-Bamm (in Quebec French, ''"Boum-Boum"'') from the popular television show ''The Flintstones ''The Flintstones'' is an American animated sitcom produced by Hanna-Barbera Productions. Val-d'Or
Val-d'Or (, , ; "Golden Valley" or "Valley of Gold") is a city in Quebec, Canada with a population of 32,752 inhabitants according to the Canada 2021 Census. The city is located in the Abitibi-Témiscamingue region near La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve. History Gold was discovered in the area in 1923. The name of the town is French for "Valley of Gold." While gold is still mined in the area today, base metals, such as copper (Cu), zinc (Zn), and lead (Pb) have become increasingly important resources. The ore is usually found in volcanic rocks that were deposited on the sea floor over 2.7 billion years ago. They are referred to as volcanic-hosted (or volcanogenic) massive sulphide deposits ( VMS).
