Booker is a hamlet within the parish of West Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England, which has absorbed into the expanding suburbs of High Wycombe. There are several housing areas in Booker, mainly modern estates. At the 2011 Census the hamlet was included in the High Wycombe Ward of Booker and Cressex. Booker is also the name frequently given to the local airfield, more properly known as Wycombe Air Park, one of the busiest general aviation airfields in the South East of England. Booker, Texas
Booker is a town in Lipscomb and Ochiltree counties in the U.S. state of Texas. It was named for B.F. Booker, a civil engineer for the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway. The population was 1,516 at the 2010 census. Geography Booker is located at . It is incorporated in Lipscomb County, and most of its territory lies in the northwest corner of that county; only a small portion extends west into Ochiltree County. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.0 square miles (2.7 km2), all of it land. History Booker was founded seven miles north of where it currently sits as La Kemp, Oklahoma, in 1909. However, ten years later when the Panhandle and Santa Fe Railway was built from Shattuck, Oklahoma, to Spearman, Texas, the entire town moved seven miles across the state line to be near the railroad. Royal Air Force Booker or more simply RAF Booker is a former Royal Air Force installation located south west of High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire and north east of Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England. Booker was opened as a flying training school in 1941 on the site of a civilian flying school requisitioned and closed on the outbreak of war in 1939. In 1965 the site was taken over by Airways Aero Associations (now the Airways Flying Club), who have operated the airfield as an increasingly commercial training and recreational field, now called Wycombe Air Park. Booker featured in many of the airfield scenes in the 1965 feature film ''Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines''.
