Boohwal ( ko, "부활", lit=Born Again, is a South Korean rock music, rock band, formed in 1985 by the lead guitarist/songwriter Kim Tae-won. History Formation and the 1980s Kim Tae-won changed the name of the group from "The End" to "부활" ("Boohwal") in ‘86 following the departure of the vocalist Kim Jong-Seo, Kim Jong Seo (김종서). They led the heavy metal boom in the 80s along with other bands such as Baekdoosan (백두산), Sinawe (시나위), , and Black Hole (블랙홀). Boohwal, Baekdoosan, and Sinawe were called the ‘Big 3’ by the media as they were all led by talented guitarists (Boohwal – Kim Tae Won, Baekdoosan – Kim Do Kyun 김도균, Sinawe – Shin Dae Chul 신대철), had unique talented vocalists and all aimed to create heavy metal music. ''Rock Will Never Die'' is a Michael Schenker Group live album released in 1984 and recorded at Hammersmith Odeon in London, over two nights in October 1983. The concert was also released in VHS with the same title. This is the last album recorded with Gary Barden before he rejoined the band in 2008. The final track " Doctor Doctor", which Schenker originally recorded with UFO, features a guest appearance by Klaus Meine and Rudolf Schenker of Scorpions. Jung Dong-ha (born Jung Jae-hwan on April 17, 1980) is a South Korean singer, musical actor, radio personality and a vocal major professor at Kyungpook National University. Jung joined as a vocalist of South Korean rock band Boohwal in 2005, after releasing three albums with Boohwal Jung left the band in 2014. Lee Seung-chul (; born December 5, 1966) is a South Korean singer best known for the hit songs, "My Love", "Never Ending Story", and "Girls' Generation". Kim Jong-seo (musician)
Kim Jong-Seo (김종서) (February 23, 1965 – ) is a South Korean rock musician. He debuted in 1985 as part of the band Boohwal. After Boohwal, Kim Jong-Seo was part of several rock bands, among others: Sinawe, Charisma (카리스마), and Little Sky (작은 하늘). He has been a solo act since 1992, which saw the release of his first solo album "Rethona." He contributed to the first, second and fourth albums by Seo Taiji and Boys. He has released 19 solo albums up to now, and is currently active as Seoul's Ambassador for Environment. His latest single, "Star's Story" (별 이야기) talks about how we used to be able to see stars at night, but not anymore in big cities. Through this song which was jointly produced with another former member of Buhwal, he calls for people to return the clean environment to our next generation.
