Standish is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. The population was 10,244 at the 2020 census. It includes the villages of Standish Corner, Sebago Lake Village and Steep Falls, and the localities known as Richville, Elmwood, Standish Neck and Two Trails. Alan Taylor (historian)
Alan Shaw Taylor (born June 17, 1955) is an American historian and scholar who is the Thomas Jefferson Memorial Foundation Professor of History at the University of Virginia. A specialist in the early history of the United States, Taylor has written extensively about the colonial history of the United States, the American Revolution and the early American Republic. Taylor has received two Pulitzer Prizes and the Bancroft Prize, and was also a finalist for the National Book Award for non-fiction. In 2020 he was elected to the American Philosophical Society. Jeff Neal (born June 15, 1969) is a drummer and vocalist best known for his affiliation with classic rock band Boston from 2002 to present. Career Prior to joining Boston and after graduating from the University of Maine at Farmington with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education, Neal (who is originally from Maine) performed for over 15 years in a wide variety of bands touring throughout New England, primarily playing small clubs and venues. In late 2002, while Boston leader Tom Scholz was vacationing in Maine, he saw Neal play at Sunday River Ski Resort with his then-current band, Punchbug. Nathan Michael Carlow is an American Republican politician and state legislator from Maine. Carlow represents Maine House District 137, including the towns of Hollis and Buxton. During his first term from 2020-2022, Carlow was the youngest member of the Maine House. Early life and education Carlow was born on 18 May 1999. When he was an infant, Carlow's father died by suicide. Michael Thomas Brown (born September 8, 1975) is an American mixed martial arts trainer and former fighter who is the head MMA coach for American Top Team. Frye Island, Maine
Frye Island is a town in Cumberland County, Maine, United States. Located in Sebago Lake, the island is accessed via a public car ferry from Raymond Neck, or by private boat. All residents of the resort town are seasonal. The majority of property owners hail from New England area states (Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Vermont and New Hampshire) however there are many other states also represented on the island.
