Bonneval (horse)
Bonneval (foaled 8 October 2013) was a New Zealand bred and trained Thoroughbred racehorse who won three Group One, Group 1 races and three other Group races. She was awarded the title of New Zealand Horse of the Year in both the 2017 and 2018 seasons. Bonneval was bred by City Bloodstock Limited. She was purchased for $150,000 at the 2015 National Yearling Sales Series from Westbury Stud by Terry Jarvis, Alastair Lawrence and John Rattray. Racing career Bonneval was trained by Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman at Cambridge. Makfi
Makfi (foaled 4 March 2007) is a British-bred, French-trained Thoroughbred racehorse and sire. In 2010 he won the 2000 Guineas and Prix Jacques Le Marois. Background Makfi's sire is Irish 2,000 Guineas and Prix Jacques Le Marois winner Dubawi. Makfi was one of Dubawi's first crop of foals, which also included Poet's Voice and Monterosso. Makfi's dam, Dhelaal, is a daughter of Green Desert and a half-sister of the Cartier Champion Two-year-old Colt Alhaarth. As a granddaughter of the broodmare Green Valley, Dhelaal was also closely related to Green Dancer, Solemia and Authorized. He went into training with Marcus Tregoning in England and was owned by his breeder Hamdan Al Maktoum. Hartnell (horse)
Hartnell (foaled 19 April 2011) is a retired British bred thoroughbred racehorse that won four Group 1 races in Australia. Hartnell is well known for his rivalry with champion horse Winx. The pair faced each other seven times with Hartnell finishing runner up on three occasions. Racing career Foaled at Rutland Stud, on the outskirts of Newmarket, Hartnell began his racing career with Mark Johnston. After winning the Queen's Vase he was shipped to Australia to continue racing. Caulfield Cup
The Caulfield Cup is a Melbourne Racing Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race held under handicap conditions, although the Melbourne Racing Club is in the process of turning the race into weight for age (WFA) conditions. This is for all horses aged three years old and older. It takes place over a distance of 2400 metres at the Caulfield Racecourse, Melbourne, Australia in mid October. The prize money is A$5,000,000. Desert Gold Stakes
The Desert Gold Stakes is a horse race held by the Wellington Racing Club at Trentham Racecourse named in honor of the great filly, Desert Gold. The horses taking part are 3 year-old fillies which race over 1600 metres. History The race was first held in 1947 when there was two Desert Gold Stakes, the first in January won by Indian Dawn and then another in October won by Regal Gem. It is now held on Wellington Cup day in late January. The race was previously held in March (2003-2005) and late October (up to 2001). The Desert Gold Stakes was raced over a 1500m journey from 2000 - 2005. The 1998 event was raced over 1600m at Hastings. The race is currently a Group 3 event. In the 1980s it held Group 2 status. The Australian Oaks is an Australian Turf Club Group 1 Thoroughbred horse race for three year old fillies at set weights run over a distance of 2,400 metres at Randwick Racecourse, Sydney in the autumn during the ATC Championships series. The Australian Oaks is the premier staying race for three-year-old fillies during the Sydney autumn racing carnival. Total prize money is A$1,000,000. Dubawi
Dubawi (foaled 7 February 2002) is a retired Thoroughbred racehorse and active sire. Background Dubawi is a bay horse with no white markings bred in Ireland by Sheikh Mohammed's Darley Stud. He was one of the only crop of foals sired by Dubai Millennium, an outstanding racehorse. His dam, Zomaradah was a top class racemare who won the Oaks d'Italia, E. P. Taylor Stakes, Premio Lydia Tesio and the Royal Whip Stakes. As a descendant of the broodmare Sunbittern, Zomaradah, who also produced the Lancashire Oaks winner Emirates Queen, was closely related to In the Wings, High-Rise and Virginia Waters. The colt raced in the blue colours of Godolphin and was trained by Saeed bin Suroor. He was ridden in all but one of his races by Frankie Dettori.
