David Richard Lean (born 16 March 1945) is an Australian politician. He was a Liberal Party member of the Victorian Legislative Assembly from 1996 to 1999, representing the electorate of Carrum. Lean was born in Melbourne, and educated at Melbourne Grammar School. He was the managing director of Stadiums Limited, his family's business, prior to entering politics. He was a councillor of the City of Chelsea from 1990 to 1994, and served as mayor in 1994. Ian Robert Cathie (24 October 1932 – 25 October 2017) was an Australian politician. Born in Melbourne, to printer George Mitchell Cathie and Sybil Balding, he attended state schools, Wesley College, then the University of Melbourne, where he studied teaching. On 5 January 1957 he married Christine Watson, with whom he had four children; he married again on 3 July 1976 Jean Germain, an industrial nurse.
