''Bon Voyage'' (German: ''Glückliche Reise'') is a 1933 German musical comedy film directed by Alfred Abel and starring Magda Schneider, Ekkehard Arendt and Max Hansen. It was shot at the EFA Studios in Berlin. The film's sets were designed by the art director Manfred Hoermann.Klaus p. 50 Based on Eduard Künneke's 1932 operetta ', it is an operetta film, a genre that was enjoying popularity at the time. It was filmed again in 1954. Alfred Peter Abel (12 March 1879 – 12 December 1937) was a German film actor, director, and producer. He appeared in more than 140 silent and sound films between 1913 and 1938. His best-known performance was as Joh Fredersen in Fritz Lang's 1927 film ''Metropolis''. Early life Born in Leipzig in the German Empire on 12 March 1879, Alfred Peter Abel was the son of Louis Abel, a peddler, and Anna Maria Selma.Alfred Abel biography Abel had several careers before becoming an actor. Paul Henckels
Paul Henckels (9 September 1885 – 27 May 1967) was a German film and stage actor. He appeared in more than 230 films between 1921 and 1965. Paul Henckels had started his acting career on the stage in the 1900s. He was well known for his eccentric, colourful roles and his trademark Rhineland accent. Among his most popular roles were the school teacher Professor Bömmel in ''Die Feuerzangenbowle'' (1944) and the veterinarian Dr. Pudlich in the "Immenhof film series" during the 1950s. He was also notable as a stage actor and appeared at the Schauspielhaus Berlin for many years. His most popular stage role was '' Wibbel the Tailor'', which he played more than 1000 times. Henckel's father was Jewish, and he was thus a "half-Jew" by the rules of the Nazis. As a rare exception, Henckels was nonetheless allowed to work during the Third Reich. Hugo Fischer-Köppe (13 February 1890, in Bielefeld – 31 December 1937, in Berlin) was an early German film actor.
