Boman Shroff
Boman Shroff was an actor, stunstman, director, writer, producer in Hindi cinema, in the silent era and the early talkies. Boman started working in Hindi movies prior to Talkies and was on monthly payroll of JBH Wadia and Homi Wadia's various movie production houses. In mid thirties when Wadia brothers started making populist action movies Boman's roles came to prominence. 1935 Wadia Movietone production, ''Hunterwali'' starring Fearless Nadia was a big hit and career defining movie for everyone involved including Boman, the male lead. JBH Wadia
Jamshed Boman Homi Wadia (13 September 1901 – 4 January 1986), commonly referred to as J. B. H. Wadia, was a prominent Bollywood movie director, screenwriter, producer and founder of Wadia Movietone Studio. He was born in prominent Parsi family which hailed from Surat, Gujarat whose ancestral business was ship building. Their family name of ''Wadia'' stands for master shipbuilders. In a family of entrepreneurs Wadia is credited with creation of movies involving populist stunt roles including those by Fearless Nadia and bringing concept of stunt actresses in Indian cinema. Film career Wadia began his film making career with silent movies. Being an intellectual and avid writer he wrote scripts for his movies while his younger brother Homi Wadia who joined him in the business a few years later was usually tasked with directing them. Parsis () or Parsees are an ethnoreligious group of the Indian subcontinent adhering to Zoroastrianism. ''Bombai Ka Babu'' (English: ''Gentleman from Bombay'') is a 1960 Hindi film directed by Raj Khosla and written by Rajinder Singh Bedi. The film stars Dev Anand and Suchitra Sen in a rare appearance in Hindi cinema. Though the film was a thriller, it treads into rare Hindi film territory by hinting at incest between the lead pair. Except for the "brother-sister" angle, the plot of ''Bombai Ka Babu'' is inspired by O. Henry's short story, "A Double-Dyed Deceiver". The 1974 movie ''Zameer'' starring Amitabh Bachchan and Saira Banu was also based on the same story. Homi Wadia
Homi Wadia (22 May 1911 – 10 December 2004) was an Indian film director and producer in Bollywood (Hindi cinema). He was the co-founder of Wadia Movietone productions, established in 1933 and later after the closure of Wadiatone, he founded Basant Pictures in 1942. In a career spanning five decades, he directed over 40 films, including ''Hunterwali'' (1935), ''Miss Frontier Mail'' (1936), '' Diamond Queen'' (1940), Shri Ram Bhakta Hanuman(1948) and fantasy film ''Hatim Tai'' (1956). He was also a founding member of the Film & Television Producers Guild of India, established in 1954. Homi Wadia was married to actress and stunt woman Fearless Nadia.
