This is a list of characters from the ''Rival Schools'' series of video games and comic books. Introduced in ''Rival Schools: United By Fate'' Batsu Ichimonji : is the main protagonist in both ''Rival Schools'' games. In ''Rival Schools: United by Fate'', he is introduced as recently transferred student to Taiyo High searching for his mother. Joined by #Hinata Wakaba, Hinata and #Kyosuke Kagami, Kyosuke, Batsu finds the person responsible for it is his long-lost father, #Raizo Imawano, Raizo. His individual ending in the game reveals he saves his mother and makes peace with his father, once he learn that the latter was brainwashed by his school's own student who orchestrated the event. In the sequel, ''Project Justice'', Batsu is again the main character, but is dogged by accusations that he is responsible for a new wave of attacks on local schools. ''Rival Schools: United by Fate'', known in Japan as is a fighting game produced by Capcom originally released as an arcade game in 1997 and ported to the PlayStation (console), PlayStation in 1998. On February 23, 2012, Capcom released ''United by Fate'' on the Japanese PlayStation Network. Gameplay The main fighting game is best described as a 3D computer graphics, polygonal ''Marvel vs. Capcom'' game, with some notable differences. Control wise, the game imitates ''Star Gladiator''s four button setup (two punches and two kicks, like the SNK game format). A player chooses a team of two characters, and fights against another two character team. The actual fights, however, are one-on-one fights, with the partner only participating by being called in when a player has enough 'vigor' for a ''Team Up'' attack, done by pressing a punch and kick button of the same pressure.
