It consists of 50 spherical houses grouped together near to a canal. History The community was built in by artist and sculptor with a grant from the government to build experimental housing. Design Each Bolwoning (literally 'bulb house', or 'ball house') is constructed with Glass fiber reinforced concrete. The houses were prefabricated and could be erected in as little as one day and were designed to have low energy consumption and easy maintenance. Each house has three main levels, with storage in bottom. The first, bottom level is the bedroom, the second, middle is the bathroom, and the third, top floor is the living space. s-Hertogenbosch (), colloquially known as Den Bosch (), is a city and municipality in the Netherlands with a population of 157,486. It is the capital of the province of North Brabant and its fourth largest by population. Glass fibre reinforced concrete (GFRC) is a type of fibre-reinforced concrete. The product is also known as glassfibre reinforced concrete or GRC in British English.
