Bolaños Municipality
Bolaños Municipality is a municipality in the north of the state of Jalisco in Mexico. The municipality shares its border on the north with the municipalities of Mezquitic and Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, Villa Guerrero and to the southeast with the municipality of Chimaltitán. To the south, it shares a border with the municipality of San MartÃn de Bolaños and to the southwest, it shares a border with the state of Nayarit. Geography Climate Bolaños is surrounded with mountains and semi-desert and due to its topographical position in the canyon, Bolaños is often very hot. Population The population of Bolaños totaled 5,019 inhabitants according to the 2005 census. Bolaños River
The Bolaños River is a river in Mexico flowing through the Sierra Madre Occidental, and a tributary of RÃo Grande de Santiago. It has a length of and a watershed of about . Geography The river's origin is in the state of Zacatecas, about west of the city of Fresnillo, about south of Tropic of Cancer. It flows south between the Sierra los Huicholes on the west and the Sierra de Morones on the east. It enters the state of Jalisco some later, eventually draining into the Lerma Santiago River, approximately northwest of the city of Tequila. The last of the river form the boundary between the states of Jalisco and Nayarit. TobÃas Bolaños International Airport () is one of four international airports in Costa Rica, and the secondary airport serving the city of San José, after Juan SantamarÃa International Airport. It is located in downtown San José, in Pavas District, San José Canton. The airport is named for Costa Rican pilot Tobias Bolaños Palma (1892-1953). The airport has one runway (1566mx23m). It lies at an elevation of 1002 meters AMSL. The airport has no instrument approach procedures and can only accept VFR flights. This airport is the main base for general aviation in the country, as well as most private flight operations, charter flights, tourism, and aviation schools. Ycuá Bolaños Supermarket Fire
The Ycuá Bolaños supermarket fire, also known as the Ycuá Bolaños Tragedy, was a major structure fire, fire that occurred on 1 August 2004 in Asunción, Paraguay. After the fire broke out, exits were locked to prevent people from stealing merchandise. The building also lacked adequate fire protection systems. Over 400 people were killed and more than 300 were injured. The president of the supermarket company, as well as various employees, were later sentenced to prison terms for their actions during the fire. Background The Ycuá Bolaños V supermarket, located in the Paraguayan capital Asunción, opened on 7 December 2001. The two-story building consisted of an underground parking garage on the lower level and a sales area and food court on the second story. Two separate mezzanines contained administrative offices and an extension of the food court.
