Boisbriand, Quebec
Boisbriand is an off-island suburb of Montreal, in southwestern Quebec, Canada, on the north shore of the Rivière des Mille Îles in the Thérèse-De Blainville Regional County Municipality. The Hasidic community of Kiryas Tosh is located within the city limits and make up about 10% of its population. The rapidly growing community of 470 families and about 2,700 people was home to the former Tosher Rebbe, Meshulim Feish (Ferencz) Lowy, who established the community in 1963. Although relatively small, Boisbriand is bisected by three highways: Highway 13 on the west, Highway 15 on the east, and Highway 640 in the middle/north. North Shore (Montreal)
The North Shore (french: Rive-Nord) is the general term for the northern suburbs of Montreal. The North Shore is located in southwestern Quebec on the northern shores of the Rivière des Prairies and the Rivière des Mille Îles, opposite the Island of Montreal and Île Jésus (the city of Laval). It consists of twenty municipalities that belong to the Laurentides and Lanaudière administrative regions. While the city of Laval is commonly associated with the North Shore, it is not considered part of the North Shore because of its status as an island. 2021 Canadian Census
The 2021 Canadian census was a detailed enumeration of the Canadian population with a reference date of May 11, 2021. It follows the 2016 Canadian census, which recorded a population of 35,151,728. The overall response rate was 98%, which is slightly lower than the response rate for the 2016 census. It recorded a population of 36,991,981, a 5.2% increase from 2016. Planning Consultation on census program content was from September 11 to December 8, 2017. The census was conducted by Statistics Canada, and was contactless as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada. The agency had considered delaying the census until 2022. Quebec Autoroute 640
Autoroute 640 (or A-640) is a Quebec autoroute that runs across the North Shore Region (paralleling the Rivière des Mille-Îles) from Route 344 in the Oka area to Route 138, where it ends as a four-lane expressway in Charlemagne. The road was designed to be northern bypass of the city of Montréal and was originally intended to cross the Lake of Two Mountains to connect to Autoroute 40 near Vaudreuil. It is currently long. Quebec Autoroute 15
Autoroute 15 (also called the Décarie Expressway (English) or Autoroute Décarie (French) between the Turcot and Décarie Interchanges in Montreal and the Laurentian Autoroute (English) or Autoroute des Laurentides (French) north of Autoroute 40) is a highway in western Quebec, Canada. It was, until the extension of Autoroute 25 was opened in 2011, the only constructed north-south autoroute to go out of Montreal on both sides. A-15 begins at the end of Interstate 87 at the United States border at Saint-Bernard-de-Lacolle and extends via Montreal to Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts with an eventual continuation beyond Mont-Tremblant. Autoroute 13 (or A-13, also known as Autoroute Chomedey with sections formerly known as Autoroute Mirabel), is a freeway in the urban region of Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Its southern end is at the junction of A-20 on the Island of Montreal near Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport. Its northern terminus is at the junction of A-640 near Boisbriand. The road traverses Laval. Autoroute 13 was built as a toll highway in 1975 with a goal to connect the two international airports, Mirabel and Dorval (now Trudeau International Airport). The freeway is mostly six-laned and tolls no longer apply. The designation of Autoroute Chomedey refers to the community of Chomedey in Laval, through which A-13 passes. Meshulim Feish Segal Lowy II ( he, משולם פייש סג"ל לאווי, Magyarized: ''Lőwy Ferencz''; 11 April 1921 – 12 August 2015) was the fourth Grand Rebbe of the Tosh Hasidic dynasty. Biography Early life Lowy was born in Nyírtass, northeastern Hungary. His father Mordecai Márton was the oldest son of Grand Rebbe Elimelech, leader of the native Tosh Hasidim, and his mother Cirel (née Fekete) had been daughter to the chief rabbi of Nyírbátor. He was named after his great-grandfather Meshulim Feish Lowy I (1821 – 1875), the founder of the sect. In 1930, Mordecai was appointed rabbi of Demecser. Upon reaching the age of twelve, the boy was sent to study at the ''yeshiva'' of his uncle, Ascher Adolf Lőwy, in Nagykálló.
