Bogusław Nowak
Bogusław Nowak (born 29 January 1952) is a former international speedway rider from Poland. Speedway career Nowak won a silver medal at the Speedway World Team Cup in the 1977 Speedway World Team Cup. He also stood as reserve for the 1977 Individual Speedway World Championship after finishing eighth in the Continental final. In 1988, Nowak was involved in an accident while racing, which left him confined to a wheelchair. Gorzów Wielkopolski
Gorzów Wielkopolski (; german: Landsberg an der Warthe) often abbreviated to Gorzów Wlkp. or simply Gorzów, is a city in western Poland, on the Warta river. It is the second largest city in the Lubusz Voivodeship with 120,087 inhabitants (December 2021) and one of its two capitals with a seat of a voivode, with the other being Zielona Góra. Around Gorzów, there are two large forest areas: Gorzów Woods to the north, where the Barlinek-Gorzów Landscape Park is situated, and Noteć Woods to the southeast. Marek Kazimierz Cieślak (born 28 June 1950) is a Polish former speedway rider and current coach. In 2007 he was a manager of Poland national team. Poland won Speedway World Cup and Team U-21 World Championship. After victory in SWC, on 30 July 2007 Polish president Lech Kaczyński honoured him Knight's Cross of Order of Polonia Restituta for prominent contributions for development of Polish speedway sport and for achievement in training work.(plPolish president website - 30 December 2007. History Formation and beginnings The speedway section of club was officially registered 9 April 1950. At number 60 the register of sports associations was written down trade union sports club of Gorzów Wielkopolski. In July 1951 the Gorzów Wielkopolski club already had own 395-metres with path by the Śląska Street. 1977 Individual Speedway World Championship
The 1977 Individual Speedway World Championship was the 32nd edition of the official World Championship to determine the world champion rider. History was made in the 1977 final when Ivan Mauger of New Zealand equalled Ove Fundin's title record of five World Championship wins. Mauger had gone close to equalling the record before and finally achieved it in Sweden, the home of Fundin. In a decisive 18th heat Mauger won from his nearest challenger Ole Olsen, when Olsen was forced to lay his bike down to avoid hitting John Boulger. The result was just one point for Olsen, a badly damaged Jawa bike and the end of his title hopes. Defending champion Peter Collins won his last ride to claim the silver medal despite riding with a broken left leg, but Olsen won the bronze medal run-off against young English rider Michael Lee.
