A superhero or superheroine is a stock character that typically possesses ''superpowers'', abilities beyond those of ordinary people, and fits the role of the hero, typically using his or her powers to help the world become a better place, or dedicating themselves to protecting the public and fighting crime. Firestorm (comics)
Firestorm is the name of several fictional superheroes appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Ronnie Raymond and Martin Stein fused together debuted as the first incarnation in ''Firestorm, the Nuclear Man'' #1 (March 1978) and were created by Gerry Conway and Al Milgrom. Jason Rusch debuted as a modern update of the character in ''Firestorm'' (vol. 3) #1 (July 2004), and was created by Dan Jolley and ChrisCross. Firestorm was featured in The CW's ''Arrowverse'', portrayed by Robbie Amell, Victor Garber, and Franz Drameh (as Jax Jackson) mainly in ''The Flash'' and ''Legends of Tomorrow''. Doom Patrol
Doom Patrol is a superhero team from DC Comics. The original Doom Patrol first appeared in ''My Greatest Adventure'' #80 (June 1963), and was created by writers Arnold Drake and Bob Haney, along with artist Bruno Premiani. Doom Patrol has appeared in different incarnations in multiple comics, and have been adapted to other media. Although not one of the most popular superhero teams, they have never been out of print for more than a few years since their introduction. The series' creator and fans have suspected that Marvel Comics copied the basic concept to create the X-Men, which debuted a few months later, but other fans also speculate that they share similarities with another Marvel superhero team, the Fantastic Four. Valentina Vostok is a fictional character by DC Comics. She first appeared in '' Showcase'' #94 (August 1977), and was created by Paul Kupperberg and Joe Staton. In live-action, Valentina Vostok made her debut in the first season of the CW Arrowverse series '' Legends of Tomorrow'', played by Stephanie Corneliussen. Mariana Klaveno portrayed the character in the second season of the DC Universe/HBO Max series ''Doom Patrol''. Fictional character biography Lt. Col. Valentina Vostok of the Soviet Air Force stole an experimental Russian fighter plane in order to defect to the United States. Global Guardians
The Global Guardians is a team of DC Comics superheroes whose members hail from countries around the world. The concept originated in the ''Super Friends'' Saturday morning cartoon, which aired after the comics stories in ''Super Friends'' #7-9, in which several heroes ( Black Vulcan, Samurai, Apache Chief and El Dorado) were added to the Justice League to give it more ethnic diversity. Fictional team history The characters that would form the Global Guardians first appeared in the ''Super Friends'' comic book series. They were first introduced in a story (in ''Super Friends'' #7-9) in which an alien villain called Grax (an old Superman foe) planted bombs on Earth's seven continents to destroy it. Sand Demon Sand Demon is the name of a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Eddie Slick is the manager of the wrestler King Crusher, and provided him with mutative steroids to win a match. However, Firestorm eventually defeated him while exposing the steroid operation in the process. Eddie was later exposed to the same drugs as his wrestler and buried in the Nevada Desert for exposing the drug ring behind the steroids leaving the gangsters broke. Developing the power to control sand, he sought revenge and crossed paths with Firestorm. Firestorm thought that Sand Demon was Martin Stein, who had become too crazy to reason with. He used his powers to overheat Sand Demon enough to turn him into glass, which shattered when it hit the floor.
