Boeselager (or ''Böselager'') is the name of a German noble family from Magdeburg. History The members of this noble house whose line begins with one Squire ''Boeselager'' of by Magdeburgon first appearing in the documents on April 12, 1363. The first fully documented member is ''Henning von Boeselager'' holding a knight's fief in Wolmirsleben from April 12, 1466. By decree of the Royal Prussian throne, members of the ''Heesen'' Line entered the ranks of the barons on December 20, 1823; the members of the ''Eggermühlen'' branch were thereafter styled "barons" according to customary law. Philipp Freiherr von Boeselager (6 September 1917 – 1 May 2008) was the second-last surviving member of the 20 July Plot, a conspiracy of Wehrmacht officers to assassinate the German dictator Adolf Hitler in 1944. Albrecht Von Boeselager
Albrecht Freiherr von Boeselager (born 4 October 1949) is a German lawyer and forester and was formerly a member of the Sovereign Council of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta. He served as Grand Hospitaller from 1989 to 2014, and from 2014 until September 3rd, 2022 as its Grand Chancellor. Boeselagar was at the centre of a leadership controversy within the Order of Malta in late 2016 and early 2017. After Boeslager was suspended as Grand Chancellor, Pope Francis intervened to restore him to office and require the resignation of the Prince and Grand Master of the Order, Matthew Festing. Pope Francis dissolved the Sovereign Council on September 3rd, 2022 and appointed H.E. Ricardo Paterno di Montecupo as Grand Chancellor. Georg Von Boeselager
Georg von Boeselager (25 August 1915 – 27 August 1944) was a German nobleman and an officer in the Wehrmacht of Nazi Germany, who led the Nazi security warfare operations in the Army Group Centre Rear Area on the Eastern Front, calling for extreme measures, including deporting all males in "gang-infested areas" and shooting those who remained. Along with his younger brother Philipp von Boeselager, he was a co-conspirator in the 1944 20 July Plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. Soon after the plot failed, Boeselager was killed in action and was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. Damian Hieronymus Johannes Freiherr von Boeselager (born 8 March 1988) is a German business consultant, journalist and Volt Europa politician who has sat in the European Parliament since being elected in 2019. Early life and education Damian Boeselager is descended from the Boeselager family. Csilla von Boeselager (May 17, 1941 in Budapest – February 23, 1994, in Arnsberg-Voßwinkel) was a Baroness who founded the Hungarian Maltese Charity Organisation in Germany (german: Ungarischer Malteser Caritas Dienst), and initiated the foundation of the Magyar Máltai Szeretetszolgálat (MMSz) in Hungary. She was a Dame of Malta. Biography She was born Csilla Fényes de Dengelegh, in a Hungarian noble family. Her father was the engineer dr. On 20 July 1944, Claus von Stauffenberg and other conspirators attempted to assassinate Adolf Hitler, Führer of Nazi Germany, inside his Wolf's Lair field headquarters near Rastenburg, East Prussia, now Kętrzyn, in present-day Poland. The name "Operation Valkyrie"—originally referring to part of the conspiracy—has become associated with the entire event.
