Body (2007 Film)
''Body'' ( th, บอดี้..ศพ #19 or ''Body ... Sop 19'', literally "corpse number 19") is a Thai horror-thriller film. It is produced by GTH, the same production company that made the hit Thai horror film, '' Shutter''. ''Body'' is directed by Paween Purijitpanya and co-written by Chukiat Sakweerakul, who had previously directed the thriller, ''13 Beloved''. ''Body'' has parallels to an actual murder case in Thailand, in which a physician was convicted and given the death penalty in the dismemberment of his estranged wife. Among the cast is Arak Amornsupasiri, who plays the protagonist Chon. Arak is the guitarist in the Thai rock band, Slur. Plot Chon is an engineering student living in a rented house in Bangkok with his sister, Aye. Jira Maligool
Jira Maligool ( th, จิระ มะลิกุล; ; born 1961) is a Thai film director, screenwriter and producer. He has directed three films, ''Mekhong Full Moon Party'', ''The Tin Mine'' and ''Seven Something'' (part 42.195), and was the screenwriter behind the international hit, ''The Iron Ladies''. Biography Early career Born in Thailand in 1961, Jira graduated in 1983 from Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Communication Arts, where he majored in film and photography. While still a student, he worked as a music video and movie commercial director. In 1991, he co-founded his own film studio, Hub Ho Hin Bangkok (later working through the subsidiary Hub Ho Hin Films). Chulalongkorn University (CU, th, จุฬาลงกรณ์มหาวิทยาลัย, ), nicknamed Chula ( th, จุฬาฯ), is a public and autonomous research university in Bangkok, Thailand. The American Film Market (AFM) is a film industry event held each year in early November. Historically, more than 7,000 people attend the eight-day annual event to network and to sell, finance and acquire films. Participants come from more than 70 countries and include acquisition and development executives, agents, attorneys, directors, distributors, festival directors, financiers, film commissioners, producers, writers, etc. Founded in 1981, the AFM is a marketplace for the film business, where unlike a film festival, production and distribution deals are the main focus of the participants.
