	Boddington, Northamptonshire Boddington is a civil parish in West Northamptonshire, England, about north-east of Banbury off the A361 road. The parish includes the villages of Upper Boddington and Lower Boddington. Upper Boddington is the larger of the two, on a hill close to the boundary between Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Warwickshire, with Lower Boddington on the southern slope of the hill. Nearby Boddington Reservoir is used for sailing and recreational fishing. The town sits on the road from Pinjarra, Western Australia, Pinjarra to Williams, Western Australia, Williams on the Hotham River. The population of the town was 1,844 at the 2016 Census. History The town owes its name to an early settler, Henry Boddington, who was a farmer and shepherd in the 1860s and 1870s and leased land in the area in 1875, later moving to Wagin, Western Australia, Wagin. His name became associated with a pool in the Hotham River at which he frequently camped. The original settled locality was called Hotham, west of the town at what is now the end of Farmers Avenue, named for the Farmer family, and a post office and school were established. It was renamed the Marradong Road District on 30 October 1903. The board initially convened at Marradong, Western Australia, Marradong 8 km to the south of Boddington, but relocated to Boddington in 1925 after the arrival of the railway and construction of suitable buildings.
