Bobcat
The bobcat (''Lynx rufus''), also known as the red lynx, is a medium-sized cat native to North America. It ranges from southern Canada through most of the contiguous United States to Oaxaca in Mexico. It is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List since 2002, due to its wide distribution and large population. Although it has been hunted extensively both for sport and fur, populations have proven stable, though declining in some areas. It has distinctive black bars on its forelegs and a black-tipped, stubby (or "bobbed") tail, from which it derives its name. It reaches a total length (including the tail) of up to . It is an adaptable predator inhabiting wooded areas, semidesert, urban edge, forest edge, and swampland environments. It remains in some of its original range, but populations are vulnerable to extirpation by coyotes and domestic animals. Bobcat Company is an American-based manufacturer of farm and construction equipment. Its American headquarters is in West Fargo, North Dakota, formerly in Gwinner, North Dakota. NYU Violets is the nickname of the sports teams and other competitive teams at New York University. The school colors are purple and white. Although officially known as the Violets, the school mascot is a bobcat. The Violets compete as a member of NCAA Division III in the University Athletic Association conference. The Texas State Bobcats are the sports teams that represent Texas State University. Currently, they compete in the Sun Belt Conference in NCAA Division I (Football Bowl Subdivision for football). The Bobcat has been the mascot of Texas State University since 1921, when the university adopted the name from the recommendation of a committee formed to raise school spirit. Though considerably smaller than mountain lions, bobcats are known for their stubborn fierceness and great courage. The Montana State Bobcats are the varsity athletic teams representing Montana State University in Bozeman in intercollegiate athletics. Robert Alan "Bob" McCown (born in Columbus, Ohio) is an American-Canadian radio personality. He is best known as the long-time host of the Canadian sports talk show ''Prime Time Sports'' from its inception on October 2, 1989 to June 21, 2019. The Bay of Bengal Cooperative Air Traffic Flow Management System (BOBCAT) is the air traffic flow management (ATFM) of Asia. The CFMU (Central Flow Management Unit) was launched in 2007 by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Aeronautical Radio of Thailand, Ltd (AEROTHAI). BOBCAT is a secure web-based air traffic flow management (ATFM) system for westbound aircraft operating from South and Southeast Asia to Europe during the busy night time period. These aircraft transit Afghanistan airspace, which is limited in capacity in supporting air traffic. It allocates entry slots into the Kabul FIR and advises the aircraft while still at its flight departure point.
