Bobby Gebert
John Robert Gebert (born 1 April 1944, Adelaide) is an Australian jazz pianist. The Bobby Gebert Trio (with Jonathan Zwartz on double bass and Andrew Dickeson on drums) was nominated for the 1995 ARIA Award for Best Jazz Album with ''The Sculptor''. Biography John Robert Gebert was born in 1944 in Adelaide. He was trained on piano and studied at London's College of Music before returning to Australia to start his career as a jazz musician. In 1987 he was the pianist for Bernie McGann Quartet for the album, ''Kindred Spirits'', alongside McGann on saxophone, John Pochee on drums and Jonathan Zwartz on double bass. In 1992 Gebert, Zwartz and Andrew Dickeson on drums backed visiting English saxophonist, Ronnie Scott, for his performances in Australia. The Australian Entertainment Mo Awards (commonly known informally as the Mo Awards) were an annual Australian entertainment industry award, that where established in 1975, to recognise achievements in live entertainment in Australia. They were last awarded in 2016. Lucky Grills, actor and comedian came up with the idea to create an awards show to celebrate Australian Variety, during a meeting in 1975. The Mo Awards, initially were founded as the Star Awards and were a state honour in New South Wales only, local entertainers started the awards to promote the live entertainment industry in New South Wales. The Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) is a trade association representing the Australian recording industry which was established in the 1970s by six major record companies, EMI, Festival, CBS, RCA, WEA and Universal replacing the Association of Australian Record Manufacturers (AARM) which was formed in 1956. ARIA Music Awards Of 1995
The Ninth Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAS) was held on 20 October 1995 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. There had been a 18-month gap since the previous award ceremony which was moved to be "closer to the business end of the music industry's year" and so reflect that year's works.
