Bobby Austin (musician)
Bobby Austin (May 5, 1933 in Wenatchee, Washington – January 6, 2002 in Camas, Washington) was an American country musician. Austin moved to Los Angeles in 1955, where he played bass in Wynn Stewart's band. He also worked as a session musician, for Buck Owens and Tommy Collins, among others, before being signed by Capitol Records as a solo artist in 1962. His " Apartment No. 9", written with Johnny Paycheck, was a hit for Tammy Wynette, in addition to reaching No. 21 on the U.S. country charts with his own version. He also co-wrote "Try a Little Kindness" which became a hit for Glen Campbell. Wenatchee ( ) is the county seat and largest city of Chelan County, Washington, United States. The population within the city limits in 2010 was 31,925, and was estimated to have increased to 34,360 as of 2019. Located in the north-central part of the state, at the confluence of the Columbia and Wenatchee rivers near the eastern foothills of the Cascade Range, Wenatchee lies on the western side of the Columbia River, across from the city of East Wenatchee. The Columbia River forms the boundary between Chelan and Douglas County. Wenatchee is the principal city of the Wenatchee–East Wenatchee, Washington Metropolitan Statistical Area, which encompasses all of Chelan and Douglas counties (total population around 110,884).
