Bob Rivers
Robert Rivers (born July 7, 1956 in Branford, Connecticut) is a retired American rock and roll radio on-air personality in the Pacific Northwest, as well as a prolific producer and songwriter of parody songs, most famous for his Christmas song parodies. His album ''Twisted Christmas'' was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Rivers' last regular radio program, ''The Bob Rivers Show with Bob, Spike and Joe'', was broadcast on Seattle oldies station KJR-FM until August 8, 2014, ending a 25-year run in the Seattle market. Rivers played keyboards for a cover band affiliated with the show, Spike and the Impalers, until 2015. Early life Rivers was born in Branford, Connecticut on July 7, 1956, and raised as a Catholic. Branford is a shoreline town located on Long Island Sound in New Haven County, Connecticut, about east of downtown New Haven. The population was 28,273 at the 2020 census. A cover band (or covers band) is a band that plays songs recorded by someone else, sometimes mimicking the original as accurately as possible, and sometimes re-interpreting or changing the original. WWCO (1240 AM; "Viva") is a radio station licensed in Waterbury, Connecticut, broadcasting a Spanish-language tropical music format. WWCO is a simulcast of WRYM (840 AM) in New Britain. The station is owned by Trignition Media. History WWCO first went on the air in 1946 with a 250-watt signal. It was a Mutual Network affiliate with studios in the Mattatuck Historical Society Building at 119 West Main Street.
