Bob Reinhard
Robert Richard Reinhard (October 17, 1920 – August 2, 1996) was an American football player who played four seasons with the Los Angeles Dons of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). He was drafted by the Chicago Cardinals of the National Football League (NFL) in the fifth round of the 1942 NFL Draft. He played college football at the University of California, Berkeley and attended Glendale High School in Glendale, California. Tackle (American Football)
Tackle is a playing position in gridiron football. Historically, in the one-platoon system prevalent in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, a tackle played on both offense and defense. In the modern system of specialized units, offensive tackle and defensive tackle are separate positions, and the stand-alone term "tackle" refers to the offensive tackle position only. The offensive tackle (OT, T) is a position on the offensive line, left and right. Like other offensive linemen, their job is to block: to physically keep defenders away from the offensive player who has the football and enable him to advance the football and eventually score a touchdown. Chicago Cardinals (NFL, 1920–59)
The professional American football team now known as the Arizona Cardinals previously played in Chicago, Illinois, as the Chicago Cardinals from 1898 to 1959 before relocating to St. Louis, Missouri, for the 1960 through 1987 seasons. Roots can be traced to 1898, when Chris O'Brien established an amateur Chicago-based athletic team, the Morgan Athletic Club. O'Brien later moved them to Chicago's Normal Park and renamed them the Racine Normals, then adopting the maroon color from the University of Chicago uniforms. In the 1920s the Cardinals became part of a professional circuit in Chicago. The Cardinals, along with the Chicago Bears, were founding members of the National Football League in 1920. Carl William Reinhard (May 17, 1922 – January 30, 2016) was an American football player. He played professionally in the All-America Football Conference (AAFC) for the Los Angeles Dons. Born in Los Angeles, California, Reinhard played college football at the University of California, Berkeley and was drafted in the 23rd round of the 1944 NFL Draft by the Washington Redskins. The 1942 National Football League Draft was held on December 22, 1941, at the Palmer House Hotel in Chicago. Two members of the draft class have been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Bill Dudley, the first overall selection by the Pittsburgh Steelers, and Mac Speedie, 135th overall selection by the Detroit Lions.
