Bob Pike (politician)
Robert Gerald Pike (17 December 1933 – 26 April 1994) was an Australian politician. He was born at Collie to master butcher John Francis Pike and Ruby Doris Kathleen Wood. After attending local schools, he served in the Royal Australian Air Force in 1954 and from 1956 to 1960, subsequently working in Collie as a master butcher. From 1957 to 1970 he served on Collie Shire Council, as president from 1962. Collie, Western Australia
Collie is a town in the South West region of Western Australia, south of the state capital, Perth, and inland from the regional city and port of Bunbury. It is near the junction of the Collie and Harris Rivers, in the middle of dense jarrah forest and the only coalfields in Western Australia. At the 2021 census, Collie had a population of 7,599. The Parliament of Western Australia is the bicameral legislature of the Australian state of Western Australia, forming the legislative branch of the Government of Western Australia. The North Metropolitan Region is a multi-member electoral region of the Western Australian Legislative Council, located in the north-western and western suburbs of Perth. It was created by the ''Acts Amendment (Electoral Reform) Act 1987'', and became effective on 22 May 1989 with seven members who had been elected at the 1989 state election three months earlier.
