Bob Muir (footballer)
Robert Muir (6 April 1907 – 11 June 1973) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Collingwood, Footscray and Fitzroy in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Under Jock McHale, Collingwood won premierships in each of Muir's first three seasons at the club but he didn't participate in any of the finals campaigns. He missed the entire 1930 VFL season when Collingwood made it four in a row. He finally got regular game time in 1932 and made 17 appearances for the year, including two finals. It was however his last season with Collingwood and he finished his VFL career with stints at Footscray and Fitzroy. Boulder, Western Australia
Boulder is a suburb in the Western Australian Goldfields, east of Perth and bordering onto the city of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields region. The Boulder (horse) Races were a significant event in early twentieth century goldfields region history. The town maintained its separation from Kalgoorlie until the 1980s, however even prior to that era, many surveys and studies of the towns and their areas tended to join the names. Prior to 1989, Boulder was a town, but it was merged with Kalgoorlie to form the City of Kalgoorlie–Boulder. The population of Boulder in 1901 was 2,936 (1850 males and 1086 females), which increased to 5,658 (3090 males and 2568 females) in 1903. At the 2006 census, Boulder had a population of 5,178. This had decreased to 4,825 by the 2016 census. On 20 April 2010 Kalgoorlie-Boulder suffered a magnitude 5.0 earthquake which damaged several of the historic buildings in Boulder. George Wynyatt "Wyn" Murray (4 July 1908 – 21 December 1947) was an Australian rules footballer who played with Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Family The son of Alfred Wynyatt Murray (1868-1936), and Johanna Murray (1874-1940), née Gleeson, George Wynyatt Murray was born on 4 July 1908. He married Lexie Avenel Thornton in 1932 at Brunswick, Victoria. His daughter, Patricia Joan, born 1932, was a winner of the Australian Dancing Championship many times and also represented Australia overseas, with her husband, Ron Shelton. His son, Peter Thornton, born 1935, graduated from Duntroon in 1955, RMIT (Communications Engineering) in 1961 and was promoted to Lieutenant Colonel. He commanded an RA Signals unit in the Vietnam War in 1968 and then went on to a successful business career. Education He was educated at Marist College Bendigo.
