Bob May (golfer)
Robert Anthony May (born October 6, 1968) is an American professional golfer. He lost to Tiger Woods in a three-hole playoff for the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla. Early life and amateur career May was born on October 6, 1968. He attended Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights, California, and was featured in the Faces in the Crowd section in ''Sports Illustrated'' at age sixteen in 1984. He played college golf at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, and was a member of the American Walker Cup team in 1991 before turning professional later that year. Professional career May joined the PGA Tour in 1994. He did not win on the Tour, but he finished second three times, including a playoff loss to Tiger Woods at the 2000 PGA Championship at Valhalla, and most recently at the 2006 B.C. Lynwood is a city in Los Angeles County, California. At the 2010 census, the city had a total population of 69,772, down from 69,845 at the 2000 census. Masters Tournament
The Masters Tournament (usually referred to as simply The Masters, or the U.S. Masters outside North America) is one of the four major championships in professional golf. Scheduled for the first full week of April, the Masters is the first major of the year, and unlike the others, it is always held at the same location, Augusta National Golf Club, a private course in the city of Augusta, Georgia, in the southeastern United States. Jeff Woodland
Jeff Woodland (born 28 February 1957) is an Australian professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia. Professional career Woodland joined the Ben Hogan Tour in 1991 and had a very successful rookie year, winning the Ben Hogan Dakota Dunes Open while recording nine top-10 finishes. The following year he won two tournaments, the Ben Hogan Wichita Charity Classic and the Ben Hogan Utah Classic while recording nine top-10 finishes en route to a 6th-place finishes on the money list, good enough to earn his PGA Tour card. He struggled in his rookie year on Tour but retained his card through qualifying school. Colin Stuart Montgomerie, Order of the British Empire, OBE (born 23 June 1963) is a Scotland, Scottish professional golfer. He has won a record eight European Tour PGA European Tour#Order of Merit winners, Order of Merit titles, including a streak of seven consecutively from 1993 to 1999. Official World Golf Ranking
The Official World Golf Ranking is a system for rating the performance level of professional golfers. It was started in 1986. The rankings are based on a player's position in individual tournaments (i.e. not pairs or team events) over a "rolling" two-year period. New rankings are calculated each week. During 2018, nearly 400 tournaments on 20 tours were covered by the ranking system. All players competing in these tournaments are included in the rankings. In 2022, 23 tours factored into the world rankings. As well as being of general interest, the rankings have an additional importance, in that they are used as one of the qualifying criteria for entry into a number of leading tournaments.
