Bob Marshall (California Politician)
Robert "Bob" Marshall Sr. (June 9, 1934 – May 8, 2012) was an American politician and real estate agent. Marshall served as the Mayor of San Bruno, California, for several terms from April 1980 to November 1991. His longtime involvement in San Bruno politics and the regional real estate market earned him the nickname, "Mr. San Bruno." Marshall was born in San Francisco, California, on June 9, 1934. He attended Corpus Christi elementary school and graduated from Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, a Catholic secondary school located in San Francisco's Cathedral Hill neighborhood. He joined the U.S. Army and was stationed in Korea. Marshall moved to San Bruno, California, in 1959 and opened his real estate company, Marshall Realty, that same year. Robert "Bob" Marshall is an American politician who is a member of the Colorado House of Representatives from the 43rd district, which includes most of Highlands Ranch. He was elected in 2022 and assumed office in January 2023. Background Marshall was born and raised in Evergreen, Colorado. Robert Gerald Marshall (born May 3, 1944) is an American businessman, author and former politician, who was a Republican member of the Virginia House of Delegates representing the 13th District. His district included portions of Prince William and Loudoun counties. He is known for his failed "bathroom bill" proposal, which would have forced people to use restrooms that correspond with the sex on their original birth certificates. In the November 7, 2017, general election, Marshall was defeated by nine percentage points by Democrat Danica Roem, the first openly transgender candidate elected to a state legislature in the United States. Robert James Percival Marshall, OAM (10 April 1910 – 23 February 2004) was a noted Australian amateur player of English billiards. He won the World Amateur Billiards Championship in 1936, 1938, 1951 and 1962 and was runner-up three times, as well as a national snooker champion. Marshall was born in Kalgoorlie, the same town as another legend of the game, Walter Lindrum. Throughout his career he was compared favourably with Lindrum who, in 1954, himself declared that Marshall was one of the greatest amateur players he had ever seen. Ten years later, the contemporary English snooker professional Fred Davis said of Marshall, "Most noticeable about his style is his compactness, so like Walter Lindrum, and the shortness of his back-swing, hardly more than a couple of inches." Robert Marshall (January 2, 1901November 11, 1939) was an American forester, writer and wilderness activist who is best remembered as the person who spearheaded the 1935 founding of the Wilderness Society in the United States. Marshall developed a love for the outdoors as a young child. He was an avid hiker and climber who visited the Adirondack Mountains frequently during his youth, ultimately becoming one of the first Adirondack Forty-Sixers. He also traveled to the Brooks Range of the far northern Alaskan wilderness. He wrote numerous articles and books about his travels, including the bestselling 1933 book '' Arctic Village.''
