Bob King (American Football Coach)
Robert Burrow King (June 3, 1913 – June 19, 1994) was an American football coach. He served as the head football coach at Furman University from 1958 to 1972. He had previously been an assistant football coach for ends at the University of Illinois for 11 years. He is a member of the South Carolina Athletic Hall of Fame and was Southern Conference The Southern Conference (SoCon) is a collegiate athletic conference affiliated with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The Associated Press returned to its pre-1961 system of ranking the Top 20 rather than the Top 10, and voted on the national champion after the bowl games, rather than before.
