Robert Eric Irwin (born 8 June 1939) is an Australian naturalist, animal conservationist, former zookeeper, and a herpetologist known for his conservation and husbandry work with apex predators and reptiles. He is the founder of the Queensland Reptile and Fauna Park (now known as Australia Zoo). His son was the conservationist and well-known international television personality Steve Irwin. Early life Robert Irwin was born on June 8, 1939, in Melbourne, Victoria. He was a successful plumber from Melbourne who, in addition, had also spent time building sheds and houses. Career Irwin's career in animal conservation began in 1970, when Irwin moved his family from Essendon, located north west of Melbourne, to Queensland. Robert Clarence Irwin (born 1 December 2003) is an Australian television personality, actor, conservationist, zookeeper, and wildlife photographer. He is the son of Steve Irwin, and is often noted by fans to share similarities with his late father. Irwin hosts ''Robert's Real Life Adventures'', a program on his family zoo's internal television network. Kingaroy
Kingaroy is a rural town and locality in the South Burnett Region, Queensland, Australia. The town is situated on the junction of the D'Aguilar and the Bunya Highways, north-west of the state capital Brisbane and south west of Gympie. As at June 2018, Kingaroy had a population of 10,398. Estimated resident population, 30 June 2018. It is known as the "Peanut Capital of Australia" because Australia's largest peanut processing plant is located in the town and it's peanut silo dominates the skyline. Sugar Glider
The sugar glider (''Petaurus breviceps'') is a small, omnivorous, arboreal, and nocturnal gliding possum belonging to the marsupial infraclass. The common name refers to its predilection for sugary foods such as sap and nectar and its ability to glide through the air, much like a flying squirrel. They have very similar habits and appearance to the flying squirrel, despite not being closely related—an example of convergent evolution. The scientific name, ''Petaurus breviceps'', translates from Latin as "short-headed rope-dancer", a reference to their canopy acrobatics. The sugar glider is characterised by its pair of gliding membranes, known as patagia, which extend from its forelegs to its hindlegs. Kangaroo
Kangaroos are four marsupials from the family Macropodidae (macropods, meaning "large foot").
