Bob Harrington (preacher)
Bob Harrington (September 2, 1927 – July 4, 2017) was an American preacher who became one of the leading evangelists of the 1960s and 1970s. Known as the "Chaplain of Bourbon Street", he gained fame through a series of recordings, books, and most notably a series of debates on the existence of God with prominent atheist Madalyn Murray O'Hair. At the height of his popularity he abandoned his wife and ministry. He became a motivational speaker in Florida, eventually returning to Christian evangelism at the end of his life. Early life Harrington was born on September 2, 1927, in Coxheath, Alabama, to a pair of United Methodist ministers, Robert Coleman Harrington and Mitzi Harrington. He considered Sweet Water, Alabama, to be his hometown. As a young man he entered the United States Navy. ''The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson'' was an American late-night talk show hosted by Johnny Carson on NBC, the third iteration of the ''Tonight Show'' franchise. The show debuted on October 1, 1962, and aired its final episode on May 22, 1992. Ed McMahon served as Carson's sidekick and the show's announcer. For its first decade, Johnny Carson's ''The Tonight Show'' was based at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, New York City, with some episodes recorded at NBC Studios in Burbank, California; on May 1, 1972, the show moved to Burbank as its main venue and remained there exclusively after May 1973 until Carson's retirement. The show's house band, the NBC Orchestra, was led by Skitch Henderson, until 1966 when Milton Delugg took over, who was succeeded by Doc Severinsen less than a year later. Lutefisk (band)
Lutefisk was an American alternative rock band based in Los Angeles. It was active in the 1990s as part of LA's Silver Lake alternative music scene. During this time, it released two studio albums on Bong Load Records and recorded a third unreleased record for A&M Records. History Lutefisk's frontman, Don Burnet, was formerly the frontman of the band Plain Wrap during the 1980s, and led the band 3D Picnic from 1986 to 1992. Burnet had also played drums for Beck before becoming Lutefisk's guitarist. The founding of the band was related to the curing of a "premature midlife artistic crisis", faced by Burnet the age of 30. The name of the band refers to lutefisk, a dried fish dish of Scandinavian origin, prepared with lye. Its "window of success" as a recipe is rather small, according to Garrison Keillor's 2007 book '' Pontoon''. Stigler is a city in and county seat of Haskell County, Oklahoma. The population was 2,685 at the time of the 2010 census, down from 2,731 recorded in 2000. History At the time of its founding, Newman, later Stigler, was located in Sans Bois County, a part of the Moshulatubbee District of the Choctaw Nation in Indian Territory. Mansfield is a suburban city in the U.S. state of Texas, and is part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex area.
