Bob Hall (ice Hockey)
Robert Barlow Hall (October 13, 1899 – September 8, 1987) was an American ice hockey player who played eight games in the National Hockey League with the New York Americans during the 1925–26 season. The rest of his career, which lasted from 1922 to 1926, was mainly spent in the United States Amateur Hockey Association. Born in Oak Park, Illinois but he grew up in Duluth, Minnesota. Winger, in the game of ice hockey, is a forward position of a player whose primary zone of play is along the outer playing areas. They typically flank the centre forward. Originally the name was given to forward players who went up and down the sides of the rink. Wingers generally have the least defensive responsibilities out of any position on the ice, however they are still tasked with defensive duties such as forechecking duties or covering the point in the defensive zone. Nowadays, there are different types of wingers in the game — out-and-out goal scorers, checkers who disrupt the opponents, and forwards who work along the boards and in the corners. American Amateur Hockey League
The American Amateur Hockey League was an amateur ice hockey league in the United States. The league was founded in 1896, and was based in New York City and New Jersey, until 1914, when the Boston AA joined the league. In the 1900–01 season a team from Philadelphia, the Quaker City Hockey Club, also played in the AAHL. The league ceased operations after the 1916–17 season. Players Hobey Baker, famous American athlete and inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1945, played two seasons in the league for the St. Nicholas Hockey Club between 1914–1916. Sprague Cleghorn, another Hockey Hall of Fame member, spent the 1909–10 season with the New York Wanderers, as did his brother Odie Cleghorn. Boston Athletic Association Ice Hockey Team
The Boston Athletic Association ice hockey team was an American amateur ice hockey team sponsored by the Boston Athletic Association that played in the American Amateur Hockey League, United States Amateur Hockey Association, and Eastern Amateur Hockey League. The team won the AAHL title in 1916 and 1917 and the USAHA championship in 1923, and the EAHL title in 1926. The team was nicknamed the Unicorn after the association's symbol. Beginnings 1911–12 Following the construction of the Matthews Arena, Boston Arena, Boston Athletic Association athletic director George V. Brown pushed for the creation of a B.A.A. hockey team to play in the new building.
